December 31 is a 1986 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by Manobala, in his only Kannada film. [2] The film stars Vishnuvardhan, Urvashi, Jai Jagadish and Sulakshana.

Chinni Jayanth, in an interview said it was his first Kannada film and he was reluctant to act as he did not know the language. Anyway he acted in the movie due to insistence by the director Manobala who himself did not know Kannada. So during acting he used to deliver the first two lines and ending in Kannada of his dialogue in Kannada and the rest in Tamil language. The dubbing artist who dubbed for Chinni Jayanth had a tough time to sync the dialogue in Kannada. [3]

Sampath Kumar, known by his stage name Vishnuvardhan, was an Indian actor who worked predominantly in Kannada cinema besides also having sporadically appeared in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam language films. Balachandar, known by his stage name Manobala, was an Indian actor, film producer, director, comedian, and YouTuber who predominantly played supporting roles in Tamil-language films. He worked predominantly in the film industry for nearly forty years and was notable for his unique body language and dialogue delivery and was also well known for his intonation.

Madana is a 2006 Indian Kannada-language romantic crime thriller film directed by actor Jai Jagadish, making his directorial debut. The film, a remake of the successful 2004 Tamil film Manmadhan, stars Aditya in the title role with Samiksha, Charmila, Shobaraj, Ramesh Bhat and Bullet Prakash playing supporting roles. The movie was produced by Bharathi Devi for Chinni Chitra productions. The movie became a blockbuster and ran for more than 25 weeks. The film was remade in Telugu in 2002 as Chandravamsam starring Krishna. The movie was loosely based on the Pandavas's exile episode in the Virata Parva of Mahabharata.

Sathya Jyothi is a 1986 Kannada-language film. Starring Vishnuvardhan, Sumalatha, Urvashi, Jai Jagadish, T N Balakrishna, C H Lokanath. Directed by K. Rangaraj and music scored by Ilaya Raja. This film is a remake of Malayalam movie Nirakkoottu. This film was jointly produced by Jubilee Productions and Sathya Jyothi Films. It was an average success.
