Dedicated is a full-length album by the New York City hardcore punk band, Murphy's Law. [3] It was released by Another Planet in 1996. [2]
The album is dedicated to the former bass guitar player Chuck Valle, who was killed in 1994. [4] His picture appears on the back page of the CD inlay and a picture of a tattoo inscribed with the words "In Memory of Chuck" appears on the jewel case inlay.
The album was produced by Daniel Rey. He also wrote "Green Bud".
The personnel differed from previous recordings, but Jimmy G Drescher's vocals still provided the sound's basis. [5]
The Washington Post wrote, "There's no evidence that the Law's energy is flagging; Todd Youth's guitar churns as fast as ever, and Jimmy G's vocals are just as raw and urgent. Still, the concept is a little tired." [6]
Ludichrist is an American band formed in 1984 in Long Island, New York. Their musical style broke from the conventions of New York hardcore by adding aspects of rock, heavy metal and jazz, such as musical interludes and extended guitar solos. Ludichrist is one of the crossover movement's most prominent groups, alongside D.R.I. Drummer Dave Miranda saw Ludichrist as "crossing into both, punk and metal without firmly belonging into either camp." He observed that "the band was readily influenced by bands around them such as Crumbsuckers and Agnostic Front."

The album peaked significantly higher on the Billboard album charts than Styx's previous release, Brave New World (1999), ending up 48 slots higher at No. 127, but paled in comparison to previous 1970s and 1980s releases on A&M Records.
