Deep River Camelback Bridge, Aug 2012
Deep River Park, formerly known as 'Community Park', is a private park open to the public in Chatham County, North Carolina and Lee County, North Carolina, USA, operated by the Deep River Park Association. The main features of the 40 acre park are the Deep River Camelback Truss Bridge and a canoe access ramp to the Deep River. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [1]
Deep River Park includes land on both sides of the river in a quiet rural setting amid woods and farmlands. Amenities include the historic pedestrian bridge, a concrete canoe and boat ramp, several picnic areas with 2 shelters, a playground, and parking (no restroom). The park is in the Deep River State Trail corridor. [2]
Deep River Park was founded in 1992 by the Deep River Park Association, formed to preserve the Camelback Bridge and led by Margaret Jordan-Ellis. [3] The Association is currently seeking funding to repaint the bridge while protecting the river from lead contamination. [4]

West Hartford is an unincorporated community village in the town of Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont. It is the most rural of Hartford's five villages, situated on the White River and crossed by the Appalachian Trail. Almost half of the village was wiped out by a flood in 1927. Some areas have been developed for residential use but significant forest, farming and open lands remain. West Hartford features a country store, a post office, many shops, a small library and a town park along the White River, which is also a popular fishing site. The village center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the West Hartford Village Historic District.
Watson Mill Bridge State Park is a 1,018-acre (4.12 km2) Georgia state park located near Comer and Carlton on the South Fork of the Broad River. The park is named for the Watson Mill Bridge, the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, which spans 229 feet (70 m) across the South Fork of the Broad River. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Watson Mill Covered Bridge and Mill Historic District. The bridge, built in 1885, is supported by a Town lattice truss system held together with wooden pegs also known as trunnels. Georgia once had over 200 covered bridges, but only 20 now remain. The park also offers a scenic nature trail and a new hiking/riding trail that winds through the thick forests and along the rivers edge.
Fort McAllister State Park is a 1,725 acres (698 ha) Georgia state park located near Keller and Richmond Hill in south Bryan County, Georgia and on the south bank of the Ogeechee River. It is roughly ten miles south of Savannah. The park is home to Fort McAllister, the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Though the earthworks were attacked unsuccessfully seven times by Union soldiers, it did not fall until it was taken by General Sherman in 1864 during his March to the Sea. The park, located on the coast, is nestled among giant live oaks and a large salt marsh. In addition, the park contains a museum specializing in Civil War artifacts. The fort was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
Big Talbot Island State Park is a state park in Florida, United States. It is located on Big Talbot Island, a coastal barrier island 20 miles east of downtown Jacksonville on A1A North and immediately north of Little Talbot Island State Park along the Atlantic coastal plain.
Fort Cooper State Park is a 710-acre historic site in Inverness, Florida, United States. It is located two miles (3 km) south of Inverness, off of U.S. Hwy. 41 on South Old Floral City Road. On June 13, 1972, it was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places. It is also a Florida State Park.
Bewabic State Park is a public recreation area covering 315 acres (127 ha) on the shore of Fortune Lake, four miles (6.4 km) west of Crystal Falls in Iron County, Michigan. The state park's rich Civilian Conservation Corps history is evidenced by the CCC structures still in use. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its CCC-related architecture in 2016.
Dunn State Park is a public recreation area surrounding a 20-acre (8.1 ha) pond in Gardner, Massachusetts. The state park covers 132 acres (53 ha) and is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Backbone State Park is Iowa's oldest state park, dedicated in 1919. Located in the valley of the Maquoketa River, it is approximately three miles (5 km) south of Strawberry Point in Delaware County. It is named for a narrow and steep ridge of bedrock carved by a loop of the Maquoketa River originally known as the Devil's Backbone. The initial 1,200 acres (490 ha) were donated by E.M. Carr of Lamont, Iowa. Backbone Lake Dam, a relatively low dam built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, created Backbone Lake. The CCC constructed a majority of trails and buildings which make up the park.
The Jordan River Parkway is an approximately 40-mile (64 km) urban park that runs along the Jordan River within the U.S. state of Utah. The parkway follows along the river from Utah Lake in Utah County, through Salt Lake County and onto the Great Salt Lake in Davis County. The majority of a mixed-use trail has been completed with a shared-use path for cyclists, skaters, and joggers. A separate equestrian path runs on the southern portion of the trail. Many trail-heads, city and county parks and golf courses are also located along the parkway.
Cumnock formerly known as Egypt is an unincorporated community in northwestern Lee County, North Carolina, United States. It lies on Cumnock Road, about a mile north of U.S. Route 421.
Chester State Park is located near the town of Chester in Chester County, South Carolina. The 523-acre (2 km2) park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps on land purchased in 1935.
The Yarra River is a river in southern Victoria, Australia that flows through the city of Melbourne. There are many parklands, including state parks and national parks, that adjoin the river along its 250 km length. Every park listed has walking tracks, smaller parks usually have unsealed paths, while bigger parks will have sealed pathways suitable for walking and cycling. The Yarra River Trail runs along much of the length of the river's lower reaches through Melbourne. Most parks listed have parking available, the quality and quantity of which varies according to the size of the park. Dogs are not permitted in parklands adjoining the river unless otherwise stated in special off-lead areas.
Springbrook State Park is a state park of Iowa, USA, located approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) west of the city of Yale. The park contains a 17-acre (6.9 ha) spring-fed lake and timber-covered rolling hills along the Middle Raccoon River.

Powhatan State Park is a state park located along the James River in Virginia. It is in Powhatan County. The park is 1,565 acres (6 km2) total with a 2-mile (3.2 km) of riverfront. One of the newest Virginia state parks, Powhatan opened in 2013 after a 10-year process of transferring it from use by the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice to a Virginia state park.
Rogers Bridge Park is a riverfront city park and dog park in Duluth, Georgia. It is a 16.98 acre park located in the northwestern quadrant of Duluth. The park is a few blocks north of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard on Rogers Bridge Road. Surrounding properties include an adjacent private event facility, a sand dredging facility, and single-family residential neighborhoods.
