House is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120 to 130 beats per minute. It was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago's underground club culture in the 1980s, as DJs from the subculture began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat and deeper basslines.
François Kevorkian, also known by the stage name François K, is a French-born, U.S.-based DJ, producer, remixer and label owner, who started his career DJing in clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54. Kevorkian has produced and remixed work by a diverse range of musicians including The Smiths, Adam Ant, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan and U2, and is considered one of the forefathers of house music.
Behaviour is the fourth studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. It was released on 22 October 1990 by Parlophone. A Japanese special edition included a bonus Mini CD, exclusive artwork and printed lyrics in a white velvet-like box.
David Morales is an American DJ and record producer. In addition to his production and DJ work, Morales is also a remixer. Born in New York City, he is of Puerto Rican ancestry.
"Get Ready for This" is a song recorded by Dutch music group 2 Unlimited. It was released in 1991 as the lead single from their debut album Get Ready! Originally, the single was produced as an instrumental, titled the "Orchestral Mix". Conscious of their popularity, Wilde & De Coster wanted a more accessible, formatted formula for their project to grow. Ray was then asked to write lyrics and add a rap to the track. On Ray Slijngaard's suggestion, Anita Doth joined as the female vocalist.
"Finally" is the 1991 debut single by American musician CeCe Peniston from her debut album, Finally. "Finally" became Peniston's first hit song, peaking at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 in January 1992 and becoming her only US top-ten hit to date. Prior to that, the track was a major success on the US Dance charts, where it spent two weeks at number one in late 1991. In addition, a dance remix of the song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart in March 1992. The remix appeared on many dance music compilations in the early 90s.
"Back to My Roots" is a song by RuPaul, released as the fourth single from his album Supermodel of the World, released in 1993. Although the single failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, it reached number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in July 1993 and helped to further establish RuPaul's popularity, particularly with both the dance music and LGBT audiences in the United States.

Remixes of Love is a 1994 remix album by American R&B/pop singer, Jody Watley. Released in Japan only, the album is Watley's second full-length compilation of remixes after You Wanna Dance with Me?. Remixes of Love contains remixes of select songs from the albums Affairs of the Heart and Intimacy.

Deep Heat 2 – The Second Burn, the second album in Telstar Records' hugely successful Deep Heat compilation series, was released in April 1989. Containing 28 full length dance tracks, it continued the series' success, reaching #2 on the Compilations Chart and being awarded a UK Gold Disc for album sales in excess of 100,000 copies. As with the rest of the series, the album features numerous styles of dance music of the time including techno, acid house and hip house.
"Somebody Else's Guy" is a 1984 song written and popularized by Jocelyn Brown. On the US soul chart, the single peaked at number 2 and stalled at number 75 on the Hot 100, but in the UK it made the pop top 20. On the disco chart, "Somebody Else's Guy" peaked at number 13. It was the title track of Brown's debut solo album, released the same year.
"Inside That I Cried" is a 1992 song by singer CeCe Peniston, taken from her album Finally on A&M Records. The single release included "Hitmix", a medley of her songs "Finally", "We Got a Love Thang", "Keep On Walkin'", "Lifeline" and "It Should Have Been You", all taken from her debut album. "Inside That I Cried" reached the Top 10 of the American R&B chart, and charted at number forty-two on the UK Top 75, and at number ninety-four on the US Hot 100.
"I Like It" is a 1991 song by Overweight Pooch featuring CeCe Peniston, who contributed vocals on the record. The single was written by E.L. Linnear and Felipe Delgado, and reached number sixteen in the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, and number fifty-eight in the UK Singles Chart
"Love's the Only Drug" is a song performed by American recording artist Ultra Naté. Co-written by Eric Kupper, Ultra Naté, Brian Pope, and Ollie Wright, the song was released as the second single from Ultra Naté's fifth studio album Grime, Silk, & Thunder.
"Where Love Lives " is a 1990 song by British singer Alison Limerick. It was her first solo-debut and a huge club hit in the early 1990s in both the United Kingdom and United States. In 1991, the single peaked at number 27 in the UK and number 3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the US. It was also voted Dance Track of 1991 by Billboard magazine. In 1996, it was released in a new remix by Dancing Divaz, peaking at number 9 in the UK and number 4 on the dance chart in the US. The song is famous for the funked-up piano intro and remains Limerick's most successful release to date. It is now widely regarded as one of the biggest club anthems of all-time, and has been remixed and re-released several times.
"Do You Want It Right Now" is a song by American singer Siedah Garrett from the 1985 film Fast Forward. It was a bigger hit for Degrees of Motion in 1991. It has also been recorded by Taylor Dayne for her debut studio album Tell It to My Heart (1988). A lyric sample of it was also used in Gat Decor's song "Passion", as well as in Armand Van Helden's 2007 hit "I Want Your Soul".
