Degica Co., Ltd. (株式会社デジカ) is a Japanese eCommerce specialist in ePayments and Digital services. Degica Games [1] is also a video game publisher, best known for RPG Maker (see full list below).
Degica was founded in June 2005 by Jack Momose, and is located in Kichijoji, Tokyo. Degica has a broad eCommerce offer, that includes localization and optimization of online businesses in Japan, hosting direct eShops, and supplying multiple domestic payment methods.
Tokyo, officially Tokyo Metropolis, one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, has served as the Japanese capital since 1869. As of 2018, the Greater Tokyo Area ranked as the most populous metropolitan area in the world. The urban area houses the seat of the Emperor of Japan, of the Japanese government and of the National Diet. Tokyo forms part of the Kantō region on the southeastern side of Japan's main island, Honshu, and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Tokyo was formerly named Edo when Shōgun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters in 1603. It became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture and the city of Tokyo. Tokyo is often referred to as a city but is officially known and governed as a "metropolitan prefecture", which differs from and combines elements of a city and a prefecture, a characteristic unique to Tokyo.
The company is been working with global gaming and digital partners, such as Valve Corporation [2] , Razer Inc. [3] , and HTC Vive [4] .
Valve Corporation is an American video game developer, publisher and digital distribution company headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. It is the developer of the software distribution platform Steam and the Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Portal, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, and Dota 2 games.
Razer Inc., is an American global gaming hardware manufacturing company established in 2005 by Singaporean entrepreneur Min-Liang Tan and Robert Krakoff, after securing a large investment from Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing and Singapore's Temasek Holdings. The company has dual-headquarters in Singapore and San Francisco, California and has been listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since November 2017.
The HTC Vive is a virtual reality headset developed by HTC and Valve Corporation. The headset uses "room scale" tracking technology, allowing the user to move in 3D space and use motion-tracked handheld controllers to interact with the environment.
In August 2015, Degica announced the launch of the proprietary payment platform Komoju. Japan has a diverse payments landscape, where online shoppers have multiple alternatives to Credit Cards at checkout. The local payment options include Digital Currency products like WebMoney Japan , the offline settlement for online purchases through convenience store chains (Konbini), domestic bank transfers, and more.
Komoju Co., Ltd. (株式会社KOMOJU) is a subsidiary of Degica, providing a payment system to eCommerce companies interested in localizing their checkout page. Headquartered in Tokyo, Komoju supplies Japanese and South Korean domestic payment methods, such as Credit Cards, konbini, wire transfer, and Digital Currency.
In November 2018, Degica has also acquired the domain konbini.co.jp, strengthening the product offer dedicated to foreign companies interested in learning about Konbini Payments.
Degica Games is specialized in localizing Japanese games for the global market. The company is best-known for the RPG Maker franchise [5] and shooting games such as DoDonPachi Resurrection, DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours, Mushihimesama, and Crimzon Clover. The company is also branching out into fighting games with Koihime Enbu, visual novels like Nurse Love Addiction, and indie adventure games like OneShot.
The company sponsored "Transition 2015", a one-day event dedicated to shoot 'em ups involving companies like Treasure and Cave. [6]
