Deimos is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics publications and related media, commonly as a recurring adversary for the superhero Warlord. He is a wicked sorcerer created by Mike Grell debuting in 1st Issue Special #8 (November 1975), [1] and is a distinct character from the Olympian god of the same name, a different DC Comics character who is an enemy of Wonder Woman.
Deimos is a high priest of the kingdom of Thera who uses the legendary Scrolls of Blood to ascend to its throne. Not content with a single city-state, he plots to conquer Skartaris, only to be foiled by Travis Morgan / Warlord.
In subsequent appearances, Deimos is killed and resurrected several times, temporarily gaining immortality and shapeshifting abilities from the Mask of Life.
Deimos also appears in Convergence , where Brainiac summons heroes from throughout the multiverse to battle one another.
Deimos had no inherent powers, utilizing Atlantean technology and pretending to be a sorcerer. After dying and being revived by the Mask of Life, he gains immortality and the ability to transform into a dragon. He loses these abilities after being revived once more by the Evil One.
The Warlord is a sword and sorcery character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer-artist Mike Grell, he debuted in 1st Issue Special #8. The titular character, Travis Morgan, obtains the name "Warlord" as he fights for the freedom of the people of Skartaris.
The Royal Flush Gang is a group of supervillains appearing in DC Comics. The group, which debuted in Justice League of America #43, use a playing card theme. Their code names are based on the cards needed to form a royal flush in poker: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Joker occasionally affiliates himself with the gang, but is not a consistent member. The group returned to battle the Justice League of America many times, and also appeared in other comics, including Wonder Woman, Formerly Known as the Justice League and Superman. The group has been described as "some of the most original villains of their time".
Mongul is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Writer Len Wein and artist Jim Starlin created the first version of the character, who debuted in DC Comics Presents #27. Jerry Ordway created the second version, who first appeared in The Adventures of Superman #454 as the lord of Warworld. He was later embellished by Peter Tomasi and Scot Eaton in Showcase '95, #8. He is based on the Mongol Empire's founder Genghis Khan and his successors, hence his name. The character was given an origin story in Green Lantern #23.2 by his co-creator Jim Starlin and artist Howard Porter as homage to the writers who participated in developing the character. He has become one of Superman's most enduring enemies belonging to the collective of adversaries that make up his rogues gallery.
Bartholomew "Bat" Aloysius Lash is a fictional Western superhero character in the DC Universe. A self-professed pacifist, ladies' man, and gambler, Bat Lash's adventures have been published by DC Comics since 1968.
Felix Faust is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Justice League of America #10 (1962), created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky.
