Denmark first participated at the FINA World Aquatics Championships at the third championships in 1978 when it was held in West Berlin, and has participated in every championships since then. [1]
Lotte Friis is the most winning Danish swimmer at the Championships, with two gold medals and four silver medals. [2] Nine women and two men from Denmark have received at least one medal, all won in the swimming events.
The most successful championships for Denmark by gold medal count was the 2011 championships, while the most total medals were achieved in 2013 and 2015.

Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark, Count of Monpezat, is the heir apparent to the throne of Denmark. Frederik is the elder son of Queen Margrethe II and the late Henrik, Prince Consort.
The Denmark men's national football team represents Denmark in men's international football competition, and is controlled by the Danish Football Union (DBU), the governing body for the football clubs which are organized under DBU. Denmark's home stadium is Parken Stadium in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, and their head coach is Kasper Hjulmand.
Esbjerg forenede Boldklubber is a professional football club based in Esbjerg, West Jutland, Denmark, that plays in the Danish Superliga, the top flight of the Danish football league system. Founded in 1924 as a merger between Esbjerg Boldklub af 1898 and Esbjerg Amatørklub af 1911, the first team play their home games at Blue Water Arena which has been the club's home ground since its opening in 1955.
Tommy Brian Troelsen is a Danish former football player and manager, and television presenter. He played his entire club career with Vejle Boldklub, winning one Danish championship and two Danish Cup trophies. Troelsen played 16 matches and scored five goals for the Danish national team, and won a silver medal for Denmark at the 1960 Summer Olympics. After ending his footballing career, he became a popular television host on Danmarks Radio and dk4.
Jeanette Ottesen is a Danish competitive swimmer who participated at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. In total she has won 50 international medals.
Rasmus Kofoed is a Danish chef and restaurateur who won the gold medal at the 2011 Bocuse d'Or, after previously taking the bronze medal in 2005 and the silver medal in 2007 in the same competition. He is the head chef and co-owner of Geranium, a 3-star Michelin restaurant in Copenhagen.
Allan Hjortdal Kuhn, known simply as Allan Kuhn, is a Danish association football coach and former player. He most recently was the manager of Danish Superliga club Hobro IK. Before that he was head coach of Swedish club Malmö FF in 2016, where he won the domestic league during his sole season. He was the head coach of FC Midtjylland from 2009 to 2011. He is also a former assistant coach and caretaker head coach of Aalborg BK, and was the assistant of head coach Erik Hamrén in the 2008 Superliga-winning season, as well as assistant of Kent Nielsen in the 2014 Superliga-winning season.

Pál Joensen is a Faroese elite swimmer. He was born in Vágur, Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. In August 2012 he moved to Copenhagen, where he swims at the Danish National Training Centre. He is now swimming for Aalborg Svømmeklub and for the Faroe Islands. Earlier, before moving to Denmark, he was training in a short pool 25 m, because there was no 50 m pool in the Faroe Islands. He was training with Susvim. His trainer in the Faroe Islands was Jón Bjarnason. In August 2010, Joensen won silver in the men's 1500 m freestyle at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest with the time 14:56.90, which was new Nordic record. In 2011, at 2011 World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai he swam with the second best time of all the heats and made it for the final in the men's 800 m freestyle. He set a new Nordic record with the time 7:45.55. One of Joensen's biggest dreams was to swim at the Summer Olympics, and that dream did come true. He was competing at the 2012 Summer Olympics for Denmark in three events: 400 metre freestyle, 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay and 1500 metre freestyle. In December 2012, he won his first medal at a World Swimming Championship, when he took bronze in the men's 1500 metre freestyle at the 2012 FINA World Swimming Championships in Istanbul. It was the first medal for his country, the Faroe Islands, which was won at a World Swimming Championship. Joensen holds many of the national swimming records of his country; and these records are not only in freestyle. On short course he holds most of the records in breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley too.
Viktor Axelsen is a Danish badminton player. He was the 2017 World Champion and the bronze medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European player to hold the title. Axelsen was crowned European men's singles champion in 2016 and 2018.
Jesper Damgaard is a retired Danish professional ice hockey player who last participated at the 2010 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Denmark men's national ice hockey team.
Denmark competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark sent the nation's second largest delegation to the Games after the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. A total of 113 athletes, 63 men and 50 women, competed in 17 sports, although two additional athletes played as team reserves. Handball was the only team-based sport in which Denmark was represented in at these Olympic games.

Rikke Møller Pedersen is a Danish competitive swimmer specialising in breaststroke and the current long course world record holder in the 200 m breaststroke.

Claus Elsborg Olesen is a retired Danish sailor, who specialized in two-person keelboat (Star) class. He represented Denmark in the Star class in two editions of the Olympic Games, and also shared bronze medals with his partner Michael Hestbæk at the 2012 Star World Championships in Hyères, France. Olesen has also been training throughout most of his sporting career for Kaløvig Bådelaug Yacht Club in Århus.
Jesper Roesen is a retired Danish taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the men's featherweight category. Considering one of Europe's top taekwondo players in his own division, Roesen held three European titles, obtained two silver medals at the World Championships, and represented his nation Denmark at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Throughout his sporting career, Roesen trained full-time for Hwarang Taekwondo Klub in Rødovre, under his personal coach and master Bjarne Johansen.
Susanne Maria Meyerhoff is a Danish sport shooter. She has competed for Denmark in pistol shooting at three Olympics, and has recorded a career tally of eighteen medals in a major international competition, a total of seven under both junior and senior categories at the European Championships, a total of ten at numerous meets of the ISSF World Cup series, and a silver as a junior at the 1994 ISSF World Championships in Milan, Italy.
