Hungary has participated in all 21 editions of the FINA World Aquatics Championships , held since the first edition of 1973 World Aquatics Championships, winning 110 podiums, including 43 world titles, 34 silver medals and 33 bronze medals.

The Hungary men's national water polo team represents Hungary in international men's water polo competitions and is controlled by the Hungarian Water Polo Association. It is considered the world's top power in the history of water polo, having won 16 Olympic, 12 World Championship, 10 FINA World Cup, eight FINA World League, 26 European Championship and 17 Summer Universiade medals for a total of 91.

The 2011–12 Ligakupa was the fifth edition of the Hungarian League Cup, the Ligakupa.

The Vasas SC water polo team is a department of the Budapest-based sports association Vasas SC. One of the most successful teams in the country, they have won the Hungarian Championship 17 times and the Hungarian Cup 15 times. The club also had major successes on continental level as they won the LEN Euroleague, Europe's premier water polo competition two times and took the LEN Cup Winners' Cup title on three occasions as well.

Stars of Eger is a 1968 Hungarian-Bulgarian historical film directed by Zoltán Várkonyi and starring Imre Sinkovits, György Bárdy and István Kovács. It is an adaptation of the 1899 novel Eclipse of the Crescent Moon by Géza Gárdonyi. An earlier silent film adaptation, Stars of Eger, was made in 1923. "Stars of Eger" is a direct translation of the original Hungarian title of the novel.

The Hungarian Canoe Federation is the governing body of Canoe in Hungary. It organizes the Hungarian representation at international competitions and the Hungarian National Championships.
