The Abolish Self Government Coalition was a minor Australian Capital Territory political party that experienced limited success in the early years of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. It opposed self government for the ACT,supporting its re-integration into the local government of New South Wales. The party elected one MLA,Dennis Stevenson,to the ACT Legislative Assembly in 1989;he was re-elected in 1991 but retired in 1995,after which the party declined markedly. It was federally registered on 22 December 1992 and deregistered on 16 June 1995.
The District of Molonglo Valley is one of the nineteen districts of the Australian Capital Territory used in land administration,and the only district that was not created in 1966. The district is subdivided into divisions (suburbs),sections and blocks and is the newest district of Canberra,the capital city of Australia. The district is planned to consist of thirteen suburbs,planned to contain 33,000 dwellings,with an expected population of between 50,000 and 73,000. To be developed in three stages over more than ten years,the district will contain a principal town centre and a secondary group centre,with residential suburbs located to the south and north of the Molonglo River;located to the west of Lake Burley Griffin.

The No Self-Government Party was a minor Australian Capital Territory political party that experienced limited success in the early years of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. Like Dennis Stevenson's Abolish Self-Government Coalition,it opposed self-government for the ACT. In the first territory election in 1989,three members of the No Self-Government Party were elected. None was still a member of the party by the 1992 election,by which time it had ceased to exist.
The Marriage Equality Act 2013 was an act of parliament of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly that was intended to legalise same-sex marriage in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It was first presented to the ACT Legislative Assembly on 19 September 2013 by the ACT Attorney-General,Simon Corbell. The law intended to build on the existing recognition of same-sex unions in the Australian Capital Territory,which included recognition of de facto partners,civil partnerships and same-sex-only civil unions. The act was passed in the Legislative Assembly on 22 October 2013. It came into operation on 7 November although wedding ceremonies under the provisions of the Act did not occur until 7 December 2013.
The First Barr Ministry was the 13th ministry of the Government of the Australian Capital Territory,and was led by Labor Chief Minister Andrew Barr and his deputy Yvette Berry. It was appointed on 15 December 2014 following the resignation of Katy Gallagher as Chief Minister and the subsequent election of Andrew Barr as her replacement by the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. Green's Shane Rattenbury continued to serve as a minister for the remainder of the parliamentary term,as part of the Labor-Greens parliamentary agreement signed in 2012 at the start of the term.
