Der Clown (English: "the clown") is a German television series that aired between 21 April 1998 and 11 October 2001. Initially launched in 1996 as a pilot movie, it ran for 46 episodes and starred Sven Martinek, Diana Frank, Thomas Anzenhofer, and Volkmar Kleinert. [1] [2]

Synopsis

The story is about Max Zander, an agent from WIPA (World Intelligence Police Agency). When his friend dies in a car bomb meant for him, Max decides to fake his own death and live as a phantom, known only as "the Clown", and fight crime. He gets help from his friends, journalist Claudia Diehl, pilot Tobias "Dobbs" Steiger, and lawyer Joseph Ludowski.

Film

On 24 March 2005, the movie The Clown: Payday  [ fr ], a film sequel to the TV series, was released in German cinemas.

Tripping the Rift is an adult CGI science fiction comedy television series. It is based on two short animations published on the internet by Chris Moeller and Chuck Austen. The series was produced by CinéGroupe in association with the Syfy network. Following its cancellation by that cable network, CinéGroupe continued producing the series for the other North American and international broadcasters. The series aired on the Canadian speciality channel Space in 2004. Canada's cartoon network Teletoon began airing the series in August 2006. Teletoon participated in the production of the third season, and aired it in 2007. A feature-length movie version was released on DVD in 2008.

Pipo de Clown is a character created by writer and artist Wim Meuldijk, which became famous as the lead character of a popular early Dutch television series also written by Meuldijk, and which was subsequently popularized in movies and on records. The best-known of Pipo-actors was Amsterdam actor Cor Witschge, who played the part in the television series from 1958 to 1968 and from 1974 to 1980. The regular Pipo cast often performed in theaters and for company occasions. The show stars Matt Bomer and Kelsey Grammer and is loosely based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's last book, the unfinished and posthumously published 1941 novel The Last Tycoon. Amazon picked up the pilot to series on July 27, 2016. The first season premiered on July 28, 2017. On September 9, 2017, Amazon cancelled the series.
