Der Zibet was a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 1984. [1] [2] They went on an indefinite hiatus in 1996, but resumed activities in 2007. [2] Following the death of vocalist Issay, they disbanded in 2023.[ citation needed ]
Der Zibet was formed in 1984 by vocalist Issay and bassist Hal, who were previously in a band called Issay and Suicides. [3] They were joined by guitarist Hikaru, drummer Mayumi and Mahito on keyboards. Only a year later, Mahito left the group just before they signed to a major record label (though he would continue to perform with them as a support member) and they released their debut album Violetter Ball. [3]
Their fourth album Garden was recorded in London in 1988, with the process was videotaped and released on VHS. [3] Der Zibet continued to put out many releases and collaborate with other artists, but after their 1996 live compilation album Ari the band went on hiatus. [3]
In 2007 Der Zibet resumed activities, with Mahito a full member again. [2] They released their thirteenth studio album Primitive on March 6, 2009. [4] On November 10, 2010, they released the album Kaikoteki Mirai ~ Nostalgic Future, which is composed of new songs as well as self cover, live and remix versions of songs from throughout their 25-year career. [5] They held the two man Rock'n Roll Vaudeville 2011 show together with Ra:IN on June 24, 2011. [6]
In April 2012 Der Zibet released two more studio albums, Romanoid 1 and Romanoid 2. [7] In September, they performed alongside Ra:IN, Ladies Room and Tokyo Yankees at the Yokohama Summer Rock Fes. – Revolution Rocks 2012. [8]
They provided a cover of "Ai no Sōretsu" for the January 29, 2020 Buck-Tick tribute album Parade III ~Respective Tracks of Buck-Tick~. [9]
Issay died on August 5, 2023 due to an accident. [10] [11] The surviving members of Der Zibet announced the following month that they were cancel all future activities. [12]
Soft Ballet was a Japanese electronic group formed in 1987. The group consisted of three members, Maki Fujii, Ken Morioka, and Ryoichi Endo, though they employed extra support members for live shows. While Soft Ballet weren't necessarily chart toppers, they had a strong cult following and were considered pioneers of modern electronic music in Japan in the 1990s.
Atsushi Sakurai was a Japanese musician and singer-songwriter. He was the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the rock band Buck-Tick from 1985 until his death in 2023. Taboo was digitally remastered and re-released on September 19, 2002, with two bonus tracks. It was remastered and re-released again on September 5, 2007. "Angelic Conversation" was re-recorded as the b-side to the group's single "M・A・D" in 1991. "Just One More Kiss", "Iconoclasm" and "Taboo" were later re-recorded for the compilation album Koroshi no Shirabe: This Is Not Greatest Hits (1992). "Iconoclasm" was covered by J for the Buck-Tick tribute album, Parade -Respective Tracks of Buck-Tick- (2005). Taboo peaked at number one on the Oricon charts, selling 298,620 copies in the first year, and at least 300,000 in total.

Hidehiko Hoshino, nicknamed "Hide", is a Japanese musician and songwriter. He is known as the rhythm guitarist for the rock band Buck-Tick since 1983.
Takashi Higuchi, known exclusively by his stage name Toll Yagami, is a Japanese musician, best known as the drummer of the rock band Buck-Tick since 1985. He is the older brother of Yutaka Higuchi, Buck-Tick's bassist.

Masami Tsuchiya is a Japanese singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s as lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Ippu-Do. Following their disbandment in 1984, Tsuchiya focused on his solo career and formed several short-lived bands with well-known musicians.
