Deranged Records is a Canadian punk record label based in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. It was founded in 1999 by Gordon Dufresne. [1] Notable bands who have had releases with the label are Fucked Up, Career Suicide and Brutal Knights. [2] [3] The label is known for releasing hardcore punk; however, more recently they have been releasing albums that are more pop punk. [4]

Scene historian Peter Jandreus describes the group as the most famous Swedish punk band of the 1977–87 era.

The Accüsed is an American crossover thrash band from Seattle founded in 1981. The band was a progenitor of the crossover style that bridged the gap between thrashcore and thrash metal, later influencing grindcore and some crust punk bands; as well as an influential band in the Seattle area alternative scene. The band calls their music "splattercore", and their zombie mascot, Martha Splatterhead, appears on most of their albums. Common themes involve social issues and Martha Splatterhead coming back from the dead to slaughter rapists and child molesters.

Career Suicide is a Canadian hardcore punk band formed in 2001 in Toronto. The band's first live performance took place in January 2002, with first recorded output soon to follow. The band has gone on to record several full-length albums and singles on various international labels. The band has completed multiple tours of North America, Europe and Japan and continues to record and tour actively. Guitarist Jonah Falco and former bassist Mike Haliechuk also play drums and guitar, respectively, in the band Fucked Up. Career Suicide are known for having an old school 1980s hardcore sound.

Fucked Up is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2001. The band consists of Damian Abraham (vocals), Mike Haliechuk, Josh Zucker (guitar), Sandy Miranda (bass), and Jonah Falco. From 2007 to 2021, the band also included guitarist and vocalist Ben Cook.

The Suicide File was an American hardcore punk band from Boston that formed in April 2001. The band wrote songs with a mostly political message, although many songs also dealt with social and personal problems. Most of the band's output was released on the Southern California-based hardcore label Indecision Records. The band reunited in June 2006 to embark on their first European Tour. Members of the bands are or have been affiliated with The Hope Conspiracy, Death By Stereo, When Tigers Fight, Adamantium, Give Up the Ghost/American Nightmare, Clouds, Panic and many more. Most of these are bands with whom Alexander has drummed for short periods of time. Dave Weinberg was also known for his frequent collaborations and duets with Julie Ecker and James "Boom Boom" Auclair. Despite their short tenure, The Suicide File continues to be revered within the hardcore punk community for their musical output and lasting impression on the flourishing Boston hardcore scene. The band since 2006 has played a small number of successfully sized reunion sets.

<i>Hidden World</i> (album) 2006 studio album by Fucked Up

Hidden World is the debut album by hardcore punk band Fucked Up. It was released on double vinyl by Deranged Records and on CD by Jade Tree. It is the band's first long-play record. Hidden World was picked as #1 punk album of the year by Canadian magazine Exclaim! and was also nominated for the 2007 PLUG Independent Music Awards Punk Album of the Year.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chaos UK</span> English punk rock band

Chaos UK is an English punk rock band formed in 1979 in Portishead, near Bristol. They emerged as part of the anarcho-punk scene, developing a fast and aggressive hardcore punk style. The band recorded two EPs and a full LP for Riot City Records. In the process, they, along with fellow Bristolians Disorder and Stoke's Discharge, revolutionized the hardcore punk scene. In particular, the Japanese '80s hardcore punk bands were heavily influenced by Chaos UK and Disorder's brutal take on punk. Chaos UK's debut LP was notable in the fact that the band's label claimed it was the "fastest, noisiest LP in the cosmos" in the short-lived "Punk Lives" magazine. Vocal duties on this recording were also handled by bassist Chaos.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Driller Killer (band)</span>

Driller Killer was a Swedish crust punk band. They were formed in 1993 in Malmö and are named after the Abel Ferrara film The Driller Killer. They are signed to the French record label Osmose Productions and have released seven full-length albums, and a variety of split releases to date. Their style has been described as heavy punk, hardcore punk, crust punk and D-beat. They are also strongly influenced by the sound of Discharge.

Brutal Knights are a Canadian punk band formed in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario. In 2010, the band has been described as "the most energetic revivalist hardcore act" in Toronto. Brutal Knights are also known for their humorous lyrics, written by vocalist Nick Flanagan. Flanagan is also a comedian, and sometimes performs stand-up at their shows. According to Flanagan, guitarist Jon Sharron writes most of the music.

Init Records is an American independent record label founded in January 2001 in Mankato, Minnesota by Steven Williams. In May 2003 the label relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Since its foundation the label has been solely owned and run by Williams, as a one-man operation, strongly influenced by DIY ethics of punk subculture and with an "emphasis to release aesthetically pleasing records from hardworking bands." An example of DIY ethics that the label applies in its releases is the use of recycled material, such as paper and plastic whenever and wherever possible.

Rupture was a hardcore punk band from Perth, Australia, that formed in the 1980s and were active until around late 2001, when vocalist Gus Chamber died. During this time they released split EP's with many bands including Brutal Truth, Dropdead, Spazz, Extortion and Antiseen as well as individual releases such as Righteous Fuck and Sex Drugs and Rupture. The line up on their 1997 release Hate Makes The World Go Round is listed as Bass - Zombo, Drums - Dick Diamond, Guitar - Stumbles, Vocals - Gus Chamber.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Iron Lung (band)</span>

Iron Lung are an American hardcore punk duo based in Seattle, Washington, United States. The band formed in 1999 in Reno, Nevada, and is currently in Seattle, after spending some time in Oakland, California. Live, the band has toured extensively across the U.S., Asia, Australia and Europe. They have released music on several labels including Prank Records, 625 Thrashcore, and their own label, Iron Lung Records. In recent years, the band has collaborated with other members of the hardcore punk and powerviolence scene, including Hatred Surge and Dave Bailey, formerly of Running for Cover. In 2009, an album titled Public Humiliation was released; a three-way collaboration between Iron Lung and Kortland and Ward's side projects, Pig Heart Transplant and Walls respectively. The recording is of a one-off live performance from Halloween 2008. Jon Kortland is also half of the art project Feeding, which has made artwork for several Iron Lung, Walls and PHT releases, as well as album covers for several other bands.
