Hidden World is the debut album by hardcore punk band Fucked Up. It was released on double vinyl by Deranged Records and on CD by Jade Tree. It is the band's first long-play record. Hidden World was picked as #1 punk album of the year by Canadian magazine Exclaim! and was also nominated for the 2007 PLUG Independent Music Awards Punk Album of the Year.

Art

The cover art shows a goddess rising above a river and the field of snakes. Another piece of art in the booklet shows these snakes emerging from a giant tentacle/Cornucopia. It also features many sigils. The album's logo is Vesica piscis, or Venn diagram of two sets, presumably the real world and the hidden world. It was illustrated by Jason Gardner of Buckland, Massachusetts.[ citation needed ]

Doom (British band)

Doom are an English hardcore punk band from Birmingham whose first lineup were together from 1987 to 1990. Despite its short existence, the band is considered pivotal in the rise of crust punk, a punk rock style that fuses extreme metal with anarcho-punk. They recorded for Peaceville Records and are cited as an early precursor to grindcore. Doom were also a favourite of BBC Radio DJ John Peel.

The Accüsed is an American crossover thrash band from Seattle, Washington, founded in 1981. The band was a progenitor of the crossover style that bridged the gap between thrashcore and thrash metal, later influencing grindcore and some crust punk bands; as well as an influential band in the Seattle area alternative scene. The band calls their music "splattercore", and their zombie mascot, Martha Splatterhead, appears on most of their albums. Common themes involve social issues and the theme of Martha Splatterhead coming back from the dead to slaughter rapists and child molesters. The band name "The ACCUSED" is a United States Registered Trademark (#5674245).

Career Suicide

Career Suicide is a Canadian hardcore punk band formed in 2001 in Toronto. The band's first live performance took place in January 2002, with first recorded output soon to follow. The band has gone on to record several full-length albums and singles on various international labels. The band has completed multiple tours of North America, Europe and Japan and continues to record and tour actively. Guitarist Jonah Falco and former bassist Mike Haliechuk also play drums and guitar, respectively, in the band Fucked Up. Career Suicide are known for having an old school 1980s hardcore sound.

These Arms Are Snakes

These Arms Are Snakes was an American post-hardcore band that formed in 2002 and featured former members of Botch and Kill Sadie. Before disbanding in 2009, they released three studio albums: Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home (2004), Easter (2006) and Tail Swallower and Dove (2008). Former members of These Arms Are Snakes currently play in Russian Circles, Narrows, Minus the Bear, Crypts, and Hooves.

This Is Boston, Not L.A. is a hardcore punk compilation released in 1982. It is considered the definitive album from the Boston hardcore scene, as several of its most prominent bands appear on the record, namely, Jerry's Kids, the Proletariat, the Groinoids, the F.U.'s, Gang Green, Decadence, and the Freeze. For them, with the exception of the later, This Is Boston, Not L.A. was also their debut release. Al Barile's band, SSD, were asked to contribute, but they refused to participate.

The Awesome Snakes Punk rock band from Minnesota, active 2004-2010

The Awesome Snakes were a two-person punk rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, featuring Annie "Sparrows" Holoien on bass and Danny Henry on drums. The band was formed as a side project for both members while they were still playing with The Soviettes. Their instrumentation is just bass and drums, with the bass played through a fender blues deville on high distortion.

Paranoid Visions

Paranoid Visions are a punk rock band from Dublin, Ireland who formed in 1982. They broke up in 1992, had reunion shows and eventually decided to reunite. The band ran their own label, F.O.A.D., during the 1980s and 1990s. The label was based in Dublin and run by guitarist, P.A. as is the bulk of their current administration to date.

Toothless George is an American punk rock musician. He is best known for his work with The Halflings, Toothless George & His One-Man Band, and Percocettes. George is a former professional skateboarder and currently lives in Tokyo, Japan.

Deranged Records is a Canadian punk record label based in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. It was founded in 1999 by Gordon Dufresne. Notable bands who have had releases with the label are Fucked Up, Career Suicide and Brutal Knights. The label is known for releasing hardcore punk; however, more recently they have been releasing albums that are more pop punk.

Burning Love (band)

Burning Love is a hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada formed in 2007. The band consists of Chris Colohan of the hardcore band Cursed and of the ex-members of Toronto-based sludge band, Our Father. The band have released two albums, two EPs and a number of split singles.

White Lung

White Lung are a Canadian punk rock band. The band consists of Mish Barber-Way (vocals), Kenneth William (guitars) and Anne-Marie Vassiliou (drums). They have released two albums on Deranged Records and their latest two on Domino Recording Company. Exclaim! named the band's first full-length album It's the Evil as 2010's punk album of the year. The band was nominated for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Music Week Indie Awards.

The Tronics were a London-based band that released records from 1979 to 1984. The band was formed and fronted by musician, songwriter, and music producer Zarjaz Baby, also known as Ziro Baby.
