Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns is a paranormal reality television series which features noted Medium Derek Acorah as he visits towns in the UK to investigate hauntings. The team would travel in the "Ghost Town Van" and would allow townsfolk to tell the team about their encounters with hauntings in their home town. During the investigation, Derek would visit a random house and give the owner a psychic reading this was "Doorstep Divination." The show aired from 7 November 2005 until 28 November 2006.
The first series aired every Monday night at 9pm on LivingTV between 7 November and 12 December. The show was hosted by Danniella Westbrook and Angus Purden. After each episode aired, a "behind the scenes" show "Ghost Towns Revealed" aired which followed the team as they filmed the episode.
The second series aired every Tuesday night at 9pm on LivingTV between 31 January 2006 and 4 April 2006. Once again, Danniella Westbrook and Angus Purden joined Derek on the show.
The show returned for a third series at the end of 2006. It aired every Tuesday night from 3 October 2006 until 28 November 2006. This series featured a "new look" for the show as there were new opening titles and new presenters. Myleene Klass and Rhodri Owen presented this series. This was the last series of Ghost Towns to air.
In early 2006, Ghost Towns broadcast two live events. The events would each last for three nights from 9pm until midnight. The studio host for the show was Liz Bonnin. Danniella Westbrook was unable to take part in the first live event and was replaced by Emmerdale actress Nicola Wheeler. Angus Purden was present for both live events and Danniella Westbrook returned for the second live event. Two companion shows aired during the live events. "Early Doors" aired 1 hour before the investigation began which featured interviews with the team. "Revealed" allowed viewers to call into the studio to discuss the nights events. This show aired for 1 hour after the live event.
Episodes
Although the series still had good ratings and a fourth series was planned for 2007, Acorah announced plans to take a break from the show to focus on a large scale UK Tour demonstrating his mediumship. Once his tour finished he returned to television and LivingTV with Paranormal Egypt instead of a fourth series of Ghost Towns.

The series was revived in early 2019 and aired its twelfth and thirteenth seasons from August 21, 2019, to May 27, 2020, on A&E, after which it was cancelled and then revived for its fourteenth season only months later on Discovery+, which started airing on October 31, 2021. Season 15 began October 1, 2022 on Travel Channel. Season 16 of Ghost Hunters is set to release on Travel Channel on April 6, 2023.
Danniella Westbrook is an English actress and television personality. She is best known for portraying the role of Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Away from EastEnders, Westbrook has presented various television shows, and was also a contestant on the ITV show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2003. She competed in the 2010 series of Dancing on Ice, with US Pairs Skater Matthew Gonzalez, and finished fourth in the competition. In 2013, Westbrook appeared in the soap opera Hollyoaks as Trudy Ryan. In 2016, she took part in the seventeenth series of the reality show Celebrity Big Brother, in which she reached the final and finished in fifth place.
The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) is an organization that investigates reported paranormal activity. Based in Warwick, Rhode Island, TAPS was founded in 1990 by Jason Hawes. In 2004, the organization itself became the subject of Ghost Hunters, a popular weekly American paranormal reality television series on the Syfy channel. The show ran for eleven seasons on Syfy in the US. The show aired in the UK nine months after the US premier on Living It.
Derek Francis Johnson, known professionally as Derek Acorah, was a British spiritual medium. He was best known for his television work on Most Haunted, broadcast on Living TV (2002–2010). His career as a medium was punctuated by allegations of fakery and he also attracted controversy over a number of seances during which he reportedly made contact with high-profile figures.

Angus Purden is a Scottish television presenter. A former Mr. Scotland and model, he wrote for a Scottish newspaper and is now best known for presenting do-it-yourself and Scottish lottery shows. One of the regular presenters for the BBC series Cash in the Attic since 2002, he also appeared in programmes such as Channel 4's Room For Improvement (2004-2010) and Ghost Towns (2005–2006) for Living TV, and he was a street prize presenter and public face of People's Postcode Lottery. In April 2010, Angus became the main host of STV gameshow Postcode Challenge.
Ghost Adventures is an American paranormal and reality television series that premiered on October 17, 2008, on the Travel Channel before moving to Discovery+ in 2021. An independent film of the same name originally aired on the Sci-Fi Channel on July 25, 2007. Killer Contact is an American paranormal television series on Syfy that premiered on December 4, 2013 at 10pm EST. The series features a group of paranormal researchers who investigate reported paranormal activity in haunted locations around the world including the notorious characteres these locations are associated with through history.
