Derek Jenkins is an American automobile designer. He is currently the senior vice president of design and brand at Lucid Motors. He is known for his contribution to the design of the Mazda MX-5 (fourth generation) as well as the Lucid Air.
Jenkins was born in California. He attended the ArtCenter College of Design, where he received a Bachelor of Science in transportation design.
Jenkins spent eight years with Audi, serving first as lead exterior designer, followed by assistant chief designer for Audi Design. He was the principal exterior designer of the A2 concept and production cars, as well as the 2002 Audi A8. Jenkins then spent nine years as the chief designer for Volkswagen North America, where he is credited with several vehicles including the Scirocco concept, Ragster, Microbus concept, VW GX3 and Concept T. Jenkins then became director of design at Mazda North America Operations, where he oversaw all design developments locally and globally. He was the lead designer of the Mazda MX-5 (fourth generation), which was the World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year in 2016. [2] He was the lead or contributing designer to the Shinari concept, CX-5, Mazda6, Mazda3, and the 2017 CX-9.
In 2015, Jenkins left Mazda to join Lucid Motors (at the time named Atieva). As the senior vice president of design and brand, he oversees all design developments, including exterior and interior design, user experience, color and material, accessories, and the overall design strategy, along with Peter Rawlinson. [3] Jenkins also leads Lucid's brand creative and brand strategy. [4]
The Mazda MX-5 is a lightweight two-passenger roadster sports car manufactured and marketed by Mazda with a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. The convertible is marketed as the Mazda Roadster or Eunos Roadster in Japan, and as the Mazda Miata in the United States, and formerly in Canada, where it is now known as the MX-5 but sometimes still referred to as Miata.

Luc Donckerwolke is a Belgian automotive designer and the chief creative officer at Genesis and Ioniq. Prior to the Hyundai Motor Group, he was the design director at Volkswagen Group's Bentley, Lamborghini, Škoda, and Audi. In 2022 a jury panel of 102 journalists among 33 countries named Donckerwolke the World Car Person of the Year for significantly impacting the automotive industry.
The Mazda CX-7 is a mid-size crossover SUV from Mazda, and is the production version of the MX-Crossport concept car. It was shown publicly for the first time at the 2006 LA Auto Show in January. Production officially began on February 20, 2006 in Mazda's Ujina #2 factory in Hiroshima, and went on sale in April 2006 as a 2007 model. The CX-7 was Mazda's first mid-size SUV since the Navajo was discontinued in 1994.

Franz von Holzhausen is an American vehicle designer. Since 2008, he has been in charge of design at Tesla, Inc. He designed the Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and the unveiled but not-yet-released Cybertruck, Semi, and second-generation Tesla Roadster. Prior to Tesla, he worked in design at Mazda, General Motors, and Volkswagen.

The Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover SUV produced by Mazda since 2012. A successor to both the Tribute and the slightly larger CX-7, it is Mazda's first model to feature the "Kodo" design language and the first model to be fully developed with a range of technologies branded as Skyactiv, including a rigid, lightweight platform combined with a series of engines and transmissions to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

C. Mark Jordan is an automotive designer known for his work with General Motors's Opel division and Mazda North America, including his part in the genesis of the first generation Mazda MX-5 Miata, a car that ultimately became the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history.

Tsutomu "Tom" Matano is an advertising agent, automotive designer, and automotive journalist. Matano was born in Nagasaki, Japan, and continued to live in Japan until after his studies in university. He began an Analysis Engineering Major at Seikei University in Tokyo, Japan, in April 1965 and graduated in March 1969. Following his graduation, Matano moved to the United States in September 1970 via his uncle's container ship, landing himself in Seattle, then to Los Angeles, and finally New York City.
The Mazda MX-5 (ND) is the fourth and current generation of the Mazda MX-5. Mazda officially unveiled the car on September 3, 2014, in the United States and Spain, and on September 4, 2014, in Japan. The new MX-5 was presented at the October 2014 Paris Motor Show, and at the November 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is manufactured in Mazda's Hiroshima plant since March 4, 2015. The vehicle was released in the third quarter of 2015. In the US, the release price of the MX-5 was between $24,915 and $30,065. On March 24, 2016 the MX-5 was awarded World Car of the Year (WCOTY) and the World Car Design of the Year at the New York Auto Show. It was the second Mazda to win WCOTY following the Demio/Mazda2 in 2008.
A coupe SUV is a type of sport utility vehicle with a sloping rear roofline similar to those of fastbacks or Kammbacks. The sloping roofline is adopted to offer a styling advantage compared to its standard SUV counterpart, which helps increase profit margins as manufacturers are able to raise the price by marketing it as a more premium model. Since all coupe SUVs ever produced are of the crossover variety, coupe SUVs may also be called "coupe crossovers" or "coupe crossover SUVs".

An entry-level model of the brand in markets outside Japan, the Mazda2 is positioned below the Mazda3. SangYup Lee is a Korean automobile designer employed by Hyundai Motor Company as its Vice President of Design since June 2016. Prior to Hyundai, Lee worked for General Motors (2000–09) and Volkswagen AG (2010–16), where his notable designs included the Chevrolet Camaro (2010), Bentley Continental GT, and Bentley Flying Spur.
