Derek Johnson (born March 5, 1987) is an American Christian musician. His first release was with Jesus Culture, Emerging Voices , with band member, Justin Jarvis, and it was released in 2012, yet he joined the group in 2009. The first album, Real Love, was released in 2015 by Jesus Culture Music alongside Sparrow Records. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts.

Early life

He was born on March 5, [1] 1987 in Roselawn, Indiana, [2] the youngest of six brothers, [3] and he departed for Redding, California to attend Bethel Church in 2007, [4] after his girlfriend graduated high school. [5]

Personal life

Johnson married Becky Fox in 2008, when they resided in Redding, California, yet the couple presently reside in Sacramento, California with their child. [4] [5]

Music career

Johnson's music career started in 2009, when he became a part of Jesus Culture, and he was featured on their 2012 release, Emerging Voices , with band member Justin Jarvis. [6] The first album, Real Love , was released on April 7, 2015, [7] after he turned 28 years old, [2] by Jesus Culture Music alongside Sparrow Records. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, placing on the Christian Albums at No. 17, while peaking at No. 9 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. [8]

American singer-songwriter Nichole Nordeman has released five studio albums, one live album, four compilation albums, one extended play, one soundtrack album, eighteen singles, and three music videos. In 1998, after winning a contest sponsored by the Gospel Music Association, Nordeman was signed to Star Song Communications and Sparrow Records and began to work on her debut studio album, Wide Eyed. The album was released in September 1998 and entered the Billboard Christian Albums and Billboard Heatseekers Albums charts at number 16 and 29, respectively, both of which marked her chart debut. Wide Eyed spawned four singles, "To Know You," "Who You Are," "I Wish the Same", and "Wide Eyed", and has sold 130,000 copies in the United States. Bryan & Katie Torwalt are an American Christian music husband and wife duo from Sacramento, California who started their music recording careers in 2006. The first album, Here On Earth, was released in 2011 by Jesus Culture Music alongside Kingsway Music. It became their Billboard magazine breakthrough release. Their second album, Kingdom Come, was released by the aforementioned labels in 2013, and performed even better on the Billboard magazine charts. They released a self-titled album in 2015, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, again with the two labels mentioned earlier, although this album did not place on any Billboard magazine charts.

Jonathan Merrill "Jon" Thurlow is an American contemporary worship musician. His first release was an independent release in 2006, A Life That's Worthy. After releasing several independent recordings, he went on to release his first record with Forerunner Music in 2014, Stand in Awe. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine Christian Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts. In 2019, he teamed up with Watershed Music Group as a published songwriter and distributed recording artist.

Kristene DiMarco, is an American Christian musician. Her first album, Those Who Dream, was released by Jesus Culture Music in 2008, along with a re-release of the same album in 2010 by Kingsway Music. She released, Safe Place, in 2012 with Kingsway Music. Her next album Mighty was released July 31, 2015 by Jesus Culture Music alongside Sparrow Records.

Christopher Andrew McClarney is an American Christian musician. He released, Love Never Fails, in 2008, and this was an independently made album. His first release with Kingsway Music was an EP released in 2010, Introducing Chris McClarney. The first studio album, Defender, was released later in 2010 by Kingsway Music. The next release, a live album, Everything and Nothing Less, released on June 9, 2015 by Jesus Culture Music alongside Sparrow Records.

Julian Drive are an American contemporary Christian music and Christian alternative rock band from Athens, Georgia, and they were formed in 2004. Their members are Shane Bowers, Shaun Bennett, James Nitz, Jesse Triplett, and Brian Wilson. They released My Coming Day, with Inpop Records, in 2009. This saw the single album breakthrough on the Billboard magazine charts, and the song, "The Reason", place on the Christian Songs chart.
