Derek Wilson (born July 19, 1982) is an American television actor. He is featured in Rectify , the AMC series Preacher and is a star of the Hulu original series Future Man , in which he plays the character Wolf, and the Amazon Prime Video series Gen V and The Boys , playing the superhero Robert Vernon / The Tek-Knight.
Wilson grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky. [1] He attended Western Kentucky University, choosing theater as a major after randomly pointing his finger at it on a list of options. [1]
Wilson moved to New York City doing sound design work before performing in numerous Shakespeare plays. [1] He would eventually graduate from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts MFA acting program. [1]
Wilson visited Los Angeles for pilot season and landed his role in Preacher , [1] and later Future Man . On Gen V , the spin-off of Prime Video's The Boys , Wilson played superhero detective Robert Vernon / The Tek-Knight, [2] before reprising the role in the main series' fourth season.
Wilson used to be vegan, but is currently vegetarian. [1] He is a fan of Louisville Cardinals men's basketball and tennis. [1] He also has a pitbull. Wilson also has a cameo. [1]

The Boys is an adult superhero comic book series, written by Garth Ennis and co-created, designed, and illustrated by Darick Robertson. The first volume was published by WildStorm, which canceled it after six issues; the series was picked up by Dynamite Entertainment, which published the following eight volumes: Get Some, Good for the Soul, We Gotta Go Now, The Self-Preservation Society, The Innocents, The Big Ride, Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men, and The Bloody Doors Off. Debuting in October 2006, the series concluded in November 2012 after 72 issues were published. In the fourth volume, the series is revealed to be set in the same fictional universe as Ennis' previous 1995–2000 DC Vertigo series, Preacher, with former vampire Proinsias Cassidy cameoing as a bartender. Three 6-issue spin-off limited series were also produced during the series' original run: Herogasm, Highland Laddie, and Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker, with an 8-issue epilogue series, Dear Becky, published from June–December 2020.
