Desalvo is a metalcore band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 1998.
Desalvo were formed by Alex Grant, former PH Family and Idlewild bassist, former Stretchheads drummer Richie Dempsey, and Allan Stewart who then went on to also join Idlewild. Their original vocalist Fraser Lumsden, also of PH Family, left the band in 1999 and was replaced by former Stretchheads vocalist 'p6'.
Desalvo split in 2011. In 2022 the band announced gig dates, their first in 11 years. More writing and future shows are being planned.
Desalvo was originally strongly influenced by US post-hardcore bands such as Helmet, but have later developed a more metallic and progressive sound akin to Converge. The band have also been compared to The Jesus Lizard. [1] They have been described as "one of Scotland's most prominent sociopathic hardcore acts". [1]
Kerrang! described their debut set Mood Poisoner' as "one of the heaviest albums of the year", and said p6's singing "best resembles a dalek attempting to make chicken noises". [2]
AFI is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. Since 1998, it consists of lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer and backing vocalist Adam Carson, bassist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Jade Puget. Havok and Carson are the sole remaining original members. Originally a hardcore punk band, they have since delved into many genres, starting with horror punk and following through post-hardcore and emo into alternative rock and gothic rock.

Hope Is Important is the debut studio album by Scottish rock band Idlewild, released 26 October 1998 through Food Records. After finalizing their line-up and releasing two singles in 1997, the band released their mini album Captain in early 1998. Afterwards, the band signed with Food Records, and recorded their debut album between February and June 1998 at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire and Westland Studios in Dublin with producer Paul Tipler. In the early- and mid-2000s, post-hardcore achieved mainstream success with the popularity of bands like At the Drive-In, My Chemical Romance, Dance Gavin Dance, AFI, Underoath, Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein, The Used, Saosin, Alexisonfire, and Senses Fail. In the 2010s, bands like Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil achieved mainstream success under the post-hardcore label. Meanwhile, bands like Title Fight and La Dispute experienced underground popularity playing music that bore a closer resemblance to the post-hardcore bands of the 1980s and 1990s.

Rock Action Records is a Scottish, Glasgow-based independent record label, founded and maintained by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. Roddy Woomble is a Scottish singer, songwriter and writer. He is the lead vocalist of indie rock band Idlewild, with whom he has recorded nine studio albums. Celebrated for his poetic lyrics and warm, baritone voice, In 2006, Woomble released his folk-influenced debut solo album, My Secret Is My Silence, and has since released four subsequent studio albums: The Impossible Song & Other Songs (2011), Listen to Keep (2013), The Deluder (2017) and Lo! Soul (2021). In 2020 Woomble released the 'Everyday Sun' EP which featured largely spoken word pieces over minimal, ambient backing. He followed this sound and direction into 2021's 'Lo Soul' which he recorded at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conduit is the sixth studio album by Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend. It was released on 28 January 2013 in the UK and 5 February 2013 in the United States. This is the band's first release with former Rise to Remain drummer Pat Lundy, who replaced long-term drummer and vocalist Ryan Richards during the album's production. Throughout the recording of the album the band released several teaser videos that showed the recording of individual instruments.
