The Design District is a 330,000 square foot mixed-use development located within the SouthEnd neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Located at the Former Nebel Knitting Mill, the historic warehouse buildings were constructed in 1927, and were sold to Asana Properties for $42.7 million in 2016. [1] [2] The overall development includes seven properties alongside Camden Street, Tremont Avenue, Kingston Avenue, and the Lynx Blue Line light rail. In 2017, Asana Properties announced that it would transition the property into a retail hub over the next five years. [3] In 2018, Superica and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams opened their first locations in North Carolina. In 2019, it was announced Shake Shack would open a third Charlotte location in the development. John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons is a 6-acre (2.4 ha) park and green space in downtown Columbus, Ohio, located on the site of the former Columbus City Center mall. The park features gardens, a performance stage, carousel, interactive playground equipment, and two foodservice buildings. Ally Charlotte Center is a 2-building development in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The office building was officially completed on May 3, 2021, it stands at a height of 378 (115.2). Each floor has an open floor plan and averages approximately 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) in size for a total of 742,000 square feet (68,900 m2) of space which makes it the tenth largest building in Charlotte by leasable space. The site features a 381-room JW Marriott hotel including 34 suites, the first JW Marriott in North Carolina. The site also includes 25,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and an 8-story parking garage with 1,400 parking spots.
The Demonet Building is composed of a historic townhouse and adjoining office building on the southeast corner of Connecticut Avenue and M Street N.W. in Washington, D.C. Constructed in 1880, the townhouse is the last Victorian residence on Connecticut Avenue between Dupont Circle and Farragut Square that has not been significantly altered. It features an octagonal tower topped by a dome with cartouche windows. Following a multi-year legal battle to demolish the townhouse, which had been added to the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 1979, the Demonet Building and adjoining lot were sold for what was then a record price for downtown real estate. The adjoining office building, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, was completed in 1984.

Completed in 2021, the tower stands at a height of 357 feet making it the tallest building in South End and outside of Uptown Charlotte, slightly taller than The Arlington at 310 feet (94 m). The building is primarily occupied by Lowe's, which occupies 357,000 square feet (33,166 m2) over 15 floors. The building has an additional 20,000 square feet (1,858 m2) of retail and restaurant space on the ground floor.
