Dethalbum IV is the fifth full-length album by virtual death metal band Dethklok, from the Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse . The album was released on August 22, 2023, [6] along with the film Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar on blu-ray and digital, with its soundtrack album released on August 25, three days after Dethalbum IV. [7]

Brendon Small is an American actor, stand-up comedian, writer, director, producer, and musician who is known for co-creating the animated series Home Movies and Metalocalypse. He also writes the music, and is the main performer for the virtual melodic death metal band Dethklok, which began as the subject of Metalocalypse but has taken on a life of its own, with four albums and an occasional live touring band, headed by Small. Small has also released two albums under his own name, in a similar musical style to Dethklok.

Ulrich Wild is an American record producer, engineer and mixer specializing in the rock and metal genres. Born and raised in Switzerland, Ulrich is now a naturalized citizen in the United States, living in Los Angeles, California. In a career that has spanned over 20 years, his numerous credits include producing or engineering albums for bands such as Dethklok, Sex Slaves, Project 86, Pantera, Here Comes the Kraken, Static-X, Otep, Stabbing Westward, Powerman 5000, Deftones, Seether, Bleeding Through, Breaking Benjamin, Taproot, SOiL, World Entertainment War, and many other artists, and for soundtracks including Freddy vs. Jason, Mission: Impossible 2, and House of Wax. He has also remixed songs by the band Mindless Self Indulgence. He was nominated for a Grammy for best engineered non-classical album in 1995 for his work with White Zombie.

Metalocalypse is an American musical adult animated television series created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha for Adult Swim. It premiered on August 6, 2006. The television program centers on the larger-than-life melodic death metal band Dethklok, and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with hyperbolic black comedy. The show was widely heralded as both a parody and a pastiche of heavy metal culture.

Brendon Small's Galaktikon is the first solo album debut by Brendon Small, known for his work on the animated television shows Metalocalypse and Home Movies, and as creator of virtual death metal band, Dethklok. The album features Dethklok members Gene Hoglan and Bryan Beller, on drums and bass, respectively. Small described the album as a "high-stakes, intergalactic, extreme rock album" and describes it as being similar to Dethklok but with more rock elements and melodic vocals. Like on previous Dethklok albums, Ulrich Wild produced the album and Antonio Canobbio designed the cover art. The album's release coincided with the premiere of the fourth season of Metalocalypse. The album was also released on vinyl in late June 2012.

Like The Dethalbum and Dethalbum II before it, the music is performed by the show's creator Brendon Small and drummer Gene Hoglan. Additionally, the band's live bassist, Bryan Beller, performs on the album.

Brendon Small's Galaktikon II: Become the Storm is the second solo album by Brendon Small, known for his work on the animated television shows Metalocalypse and Home Movies, and as creator of virtual death metal band Dethklok. The album was released on August 25, 2017 through Megaforce Records. The album features Dethklok members Gene Hoglan and Bryan Beller, on drums and bass, respectively. Since Brendon Small no longer holds the rights to the Dethklok name, Gene Hoglan has suggested that this album would serve as a "new Dethklok album".

Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar is a 2023 American direct-to-video adult animated film based on the Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse. The film is written and directed by series co-creator Brendon Small and is a direct sequel to the 2013 special, Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem. The film was released on August 22, 2023, alongside Dethklok's fourth studio album, Dethalbum IV. The film was dedicated to longtime series director, Jon Schnepp, who died in 2018 before production began.
