Deu Gunaji Mandrekar (born 18 March 1923, date of death unknown) was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly from Pernem in the 1977, 1980 as a member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and from Dargalim in the 1989, 1994 Goa Legislative Assembly election. He was Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly from January 1995 to November 1998. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

In 1999, Mandrekar ran as an independent, having defected ten times by that point. [6] In April 2012, it was noted that Mandrekar is deceased. [7]

He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 7 April 2017 and was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister on 12 April 2017 in the cabinet led by Manohar Parrikar. She defeated four-time MLA Dayanand Mandrekar of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 1727 votes.

Yuri Lenon Alemao, is an Indian politician and businessperson from Goa. He is the current member of the Goa Legislative Assembly from the Cuncolim Assembly constituency. Alemao won the Cuncolim Constituency on Indian National Congress in 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election. He defeated former MLA Clafasio Dias of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 6,632 votes. On 20 September 2022, he was appointed the Congress Legislature party leader in Goa Assembly.
