Devil: The Hero is an upcoming 2024 Kannada-language Action film written, directed, and co-produced by Prakash. Jayamma produced the film, under "Vaishno Studios" and "Jai Mata Combines". It stars Darshan, Rachana Rai and Mahesh Manjrekar in lead roles. The music for the film was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography was done by Sudhakar S. Raj. [1] [2] [3] [4]

The film marks the return of Mahesh Manjrekar to Kannada cinema after 19 years, his previous film being Encounter Dayanayak . [5] [6]

Announcement and Filming

The film was officially announced on 2 November 2023 wherein Darshan and Prakash who had previously collaborated for Tarak had come together for an action film. Filming began on 22 March 2024 in Bengaluru [9] but the shooting stopped midway as Darshan had sustained injury to his hand . [10]

Casting

Mahesh Manjrekar was brought on board to one of the lead characters. [11] Rachana Rai of Circus fame was cast as the leading lady of the film which was announced on 17 May 2024. [12]

Soundtrack

B. Ajaneesh Loknath will be composing the background score and soundtrack for the movie. [13] The Audio rights of the film was bagged by Saregama. [14]

Marketing

The first glimpse of the film was released on 15 February 2024 on occasion of Darshan's birthday. [15] [16] Times of India wrote "With devilish dialogues and intense action sequences, the actor captivates audiences with his portrayal of a character still in mystery of Royce." [2] A BTS video was released on 10 May 2024 on occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. [10]

Release

The film was scheduled to release theatrically during Christmas 2024. [17]
