Devilry is an EP by the Swedish black metal band Funeral Mist. It was released in 1998.
Arioch and Necromorbus recorded Devilry at Necromorbus Studio in late October 1997 and January 1998. The EP was released through Shadow Records in summer 1998 in CD format, followed by the vinyl version. [1]
In 2005 Norma Evangelium Diaboli reissued the EP and included the band's 1996 demo Havoc as bonus tracks.
Dr. Rape, who contributed a Funeral Mist interview to the Norwegian Slayer fanzine, described the musical style as "extremely fast and brutal Black Metal (like it should be!)", Arioch described it as "[v]ery fast, intense and violent Black Metal with extremely sick and perverted elements. Very far from the regular Black Metal sound. An orgy in religious maliciousness in its most extreme form." [1] The only released lyrics are those to "Bringer of Terror", that deal with the return of Satan once "[t]he chains that held him are smashed", and the failure of the "wretch you call god". According to Arioch, the idea "that it is the voice or the sound and style of the music that decides if it's Black Metal or not […] is […] WRONG!!! […] A band that claims to play Black Metal must always have Satanism and nothing but Satanism as the highest priority in their music and concept as well as in their personal lives […]." [1]
The CD's tray card features a "very provocative line: 'BY SUPPORTING BLACK METAL YOU SUPPORT THE GLORIFICATION OF RAPE, INCEST, WAR, MURDER, DRUGS, OPPRESSION, FASCISM, CORRUPTION ETC. THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING THIS DIVINE PIECE OF ART!!!!'" [1] When asked whether he stands behind this statement, Arioch stated that he "would never had it included in the lay-out" if the band did not stand behind "these things that are mentioned in this statement," which he called "the true face of today's incarnation of Evil" and "[g]enuine bringers of devastation and human suffering, which of course are an important part of the true Satanist way of life". [1] This statement was also quoted by Niall Scott in his article on confession and absolution in the black metal context, released in Nicola Masciandaro's Hideous Gnosis: Black Metal Theory Symposium I. Spiritual Black Dimensions is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released in 1999 by Nuclear Blast Records. A deluxe edition was released in 2004 with bonus material. There is also a digipak edition of this album which contains no bonus tracks. The digipak has reflective/holographic cover art. This release featured keyboardist Mustis and the clean vocals of ICS Vortex, as well as the departure of long-time drummer Tjodalv, guitarist Astennu, and bassist Nagash. Further from this album Shagrath decided to quit with playing on guitar and concentrate exclusively on vocals.
Valkyrja is a black metal band from Stockholm, Sweden formed in 2004.
Baptism is a black metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1998 by vocalist/guitarist Lord Sargofagian and drummer Demonium. The summer of that year the band released their first demo, Satanic Rituals, although very few copies were released. Following a two-year hiatus the band released their second demo, Sons of Ruin & Terror, in 2000. Similar to the last demo the release was limited. After the addition of bassist Slaughterer the band released their first full-length album, The Beherial Midnight, on June 12, 2002. The band release three more albums in 2004; a split CD with Uncreation's Dawn, and the EPs Wisdom & Hate and Black Ceremony. Slaughterer and Demonium left the band following the release of Wisdom & Hate, leaving Lord Sargofagian as the only official member. The band has continued with various session musicians, and have released four more full-length albums.
Roger Tiegs, better known by his stage name Infernus, is a Norwegian black metal musician and Satanist. He is the sole founding member and chief ideologist of the Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth, which was formed in 1992, as well as the founder and head of Forces of Satan Records. He is mainly a guitarist, but has also participated as bassist, drummer and vocalist on several recordings released both by Gorgoroth and other bands.

Scorn Defeat is the first full-length album by the Japanese black metal band Sigh, released in 1993 by Deathlike Silence Productions. It is the band's most traditional black metal album, taking on a uniquely disturbing and bold formula lyrically compared to their Scandinavian peers. The album takes its title from a line in the title track from Venom's 1981 album Welcome to Hell. On Scorn Defeat, the line itself is said on "At My Funeral".

Liturgy is an American post-black metal band from Brooklyn, New York. The band features Hunter Hunt-Hendrix, Bernard Gann (guitar), Tia Vincent-Clark (bass) and Leo Didkovsky (drums). The band have described their music as "transcendental black metal," which was especially described in a manifesto written by Hunt-Hendrix; in the process of transforming their style of black metal, they have experimented with other genres including progressive rock, hip hop and electronic music. In the band's early days, Hunt-Hendrix expressed her interest in the work of Swans, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham, La Monte Young and Lightning Bolt as influences.
