Dhaka, formerly known as Dacca, is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is the ninth-largest and seventh-most densely populated city in the world. Dhaka is a megacity, and has a population of 10.2 million residents as of 2022, and a population of over 22.4 million residents in Dhaka Metropolitan Area. It is widely considered to be the most densely populated built-up urban area in the world. Dhaka is the most important cultural, economic, and scientific hub of Eastern South Asia, as well as a major Muslim-majority city. Dhaka ranks third in South Asia and 39th in the world in terms of GDP. Lying on the Ganges Delta, it is bounded by the Buriganga, Turag, Dhaleshwari and Shitalakshya rivers. Dhaka is also the largest Bengali-speaking city in the world.
The Karnaphuli, or Khawthlangtuipui, is the largest and most important river in Chattogram and the Chattogram Hill Tracts. It is a 667-metre (2,188 ft) wide river in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh. Originating from the Saithah village of Mamit district in Mizoram, India, it flows 270 kilometres (170 mi) southwest through Chattogram Hill Tracts and Chattogram into the Bay of Bengal. Before the Padma, it was the fastest flowing river in Bangladesh. It is said to "represent the drainage system of the whole south-western part of Mizoram." Principal tributaries include the Kawrpui River or Thega River, Tuichawng River and Phairuang River. A large hydroelectric power plant was built on the Karnaphuli in the Kaptai region in the 1960s. The mouth of the river hosts the Port of Chattogram, the largest and busiest seaport of Bangladesh.
Agrabad is a commercial and financial area and is the downtown of Chittagong, the second largest city of Bangladesh. Located close to the city's harbor, it hosts numerous Bangladeshi and international businesses, banks, financial institutions, and other commercial entities. The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the World Trade Center, and the Chittagong Stock Exchange are most prominent of them. The area forms part of the Double Mooring precinct and is directly connected to the Port of Chittagong.
Pantapath is an important east west road in Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka city, the capital of Bangladesh. It connects Tongi Diversion road, Mymenshing Road and Mirpur Road. It is home to one of South Asia's largest shopping centers, Bashundhara City. Other landmarks are Square Hospital, Samorita Hospital, Unique Trade Center, etc. Green Road intersects this road at about middle from north to south. There was originally a canal connecting Hatirjeel-Begunbari with Dhanmondi Lake. But in late 1980, this east–west road was constructed. The construction of the road completed in 1995. Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) and Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon are also located on the eastern section of this road. There are two mosques in Pantapath.

The iconic landmark of Shapla in Shapla Square is the central point where all major roads to the place converge.
Tejgaon is a thana of Dhaka District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is in the centre of Dhaka, the capital. In 2006, the boundaries of the thana were redrawn when Tejgaon Industrial Area Thana was created out of the former larger area and again in 2009 when Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana was created.
