Dhusamareb (Somali : Dhuusamareeb), (Arabic : دوسمريب) or Dusmareeb, is the capital city of Galmudug State of Somalia And the Capital of Galguduud region. It's in the heart of Dhusamareb District. Dhusamareb is the largest city in the Galgaduud region and is a rapidly developing city located in the heart of Somalia.

Somali is an Afroasiatic language belonging to the Cushitic branch. It is spoken as a mother tongue by Somalis in Greater Somalia and the Somali diaspora. Location

Dhusamareb is 511km away from Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia. The highway that connects the north and the south of the country goes through the city.

Demographics

As of 2014 the broader Dhusamareb District had a population of 144,407 inhabitants. [2] As with most of Galmudug, it is primarily inhabited by Somalis from the Hiraab sub-clan of the Hawiye, particularly the Ayr (clan) Sub-clan of Habar Gidir.

Hiraab is a Somali clan, and one of the Gorgaarte Hawiye subclans. Hiraab members live in central and southern Somalia, from Galkayo and shiikhaal Kismayo. Most of them, such as the Abgaal, live in Mogadishu. Others live in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. They once formed a kingdom which successfully revolted against the Ajuran Sultanate and established an independent Hiraab Imamate, which included Hobyo. According to Dr. Bernhard Helander of Uppsala University, "the Imam of Hiraab is a hereditary position that traditionally is held by a person of the first-born branch, the Mudulod."

Hawiye Faqay Omar Murusade Hawiye

The Hawiye is a Somali clan. Members of the clan traditionally inhabit central and southern Somalia, Ogaden and the North Eastern Province. Like many Somalis, Hawiye members trace their paternal ancestry to Irir, one of the sons of Samaale.

Ahmed Abdisalam Adan, also known as Ahmed Mohamed Aden, is a Somali radio journalist, media founder and politician. He is a co-founder of HornAfrik Media Inc based in Mogadishu. In the 2000s, he also served as a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security in the former Transitional Federal Government.

Magool, born Halima Khaliif Omar, was a Somali singer.

The Abgaal is a subclan of the Hawiye and the even larger Samaale clan. It is one of the major sub-clans of the Hawiye and Somali clans in general. The Abgaal have produced many prominent Somali figures including three presidents, two prime ministers, and the father of the Somali military.
