Diane Swanton (born August 11, 1979, in Pretoria) is a South African sport shooter. [1] She won the gold medal for trap shooting at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, with a games record of 72 points. [2] [3] Swanton also received a qualifying place for the Olympics by capturing the gold in the same category at the 2007 ISSF African Shooting Championships in Cairo, Egypt, defeating Namibia's Gaby Ahrens. [4]
At age twenty-nine, Swanton made her official debut for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed in women's trap shooting. She placed seventeenth out of twenty shooters in the qualifying rounds, behind Great Britain's Charlotte Kerwood by one target, with a total score of 57 points. [5]
Swanton is also a member of Centurion Gun Club in Centurion, and is coached and trained by her father Tim Swanton. [6]
Kimberly Susan Rhode is an American double trap and skeet shooter. A California native, she is a six-time Olympic medal winner, including three gold medals, and six-time national champion in double trap. She is the most successful female shooter at the Olympics as the only triple Olympic Champion and the only woman to have won two Olympic gold medals for Double Trap. She won a gold medal in skeet shooting at the 2012 Summer Olympics, equaling the world record of 99 out of 100 clays. Most recently, she won the bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics, making her the first Olympian to win a medal on five different continents, the first Summer Olympian to win an individual medal at six consecutive summer games, and the first woman to medal in six consecutive Olympics.
Manavjit Singh Sandhu is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in trap shooting. He is a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee in 2006 and Arjuna Awardee in 1998. He is a 4 time Olympian, having represented India at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He is former World No. 1 ranked Trap Shooter.
Russell Andrew Mark, is an Australian Olympic Champion Shooter. He won the Olympic gold medal in double trap at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He also won an Olympic silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He has competed at six Olympic Games: 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012. The only Australian Summer Olympian to compete in more Olympiads is Andrew Hoy (seven).
Heena Sidhu is an Indian sport shooter. On 7 April 2014, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to reach number one in world rankings by the International Shooting Sport Federation. In 2013, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to win a gold medal in an ISSF World Cup finals when she won the 10-metre air pistol event. In 2014, Sidhu was the World record holder in the 10-metre air pistol event with a final score of 203.8. Sidhu is right handed and is right eye dominant.
Elena Allen is a British sport shooter. She represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games in 2014, winning the silver medal, having previously won bronze for England at the 2006 Games. She competed for Team GB at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and has been chosen once more to compete at the 2016 Games.
Charlotte Hollands is a British sports shooter. She won her first Commonwealth Gold medal at the age of 15 at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. In 2015 World Championship, she was part of the British team that won gold in the team trap event.
Daniela Del Din is a Sammarinese professional sport shooter. She won the bronze medal at the 2007 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Nicosia, Cyprus, and in 2009, she captured her first gold in trap shooting at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, defeating junior world champion Jessica Rossi of Italy. She also won two medals for the same category at the Mediterranean Games.
Esmari van Reenen is a South African sport shooter. She won the silver medal for the rifle three positions at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, losing out by seven tenths of a point (0.7) to India's Anuja Jung. Van Reenen received a qualifying place for the Olympics by capturing the gold in the same category at the 2007 ISSF African Shooting Championships in Cairo, Egypt. She also achieved a best result in the international stage by finishing fifth at the 2008 ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, with a score of 673.3 points.
Avianna Chao is a Chinese-born Canadian sport shooter. She is a gold medalist in the sport pistol at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Pak Yong-hui is a North Korean sport shooter. She won two silver medals in the women's trap at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, and at the 2008 ISSF World Cup series in Beijing, with scores of 83 and 90 targets, respectively.
Lee Wung Yew, is a Singaporean sport shooter. He is a three-time Olympian, a six-time Asian Games competitor, and a thirteen-time Southeast Asian Games medalist (1985–2009). Because of his long-term success and full commitment to the sport, Lee was named Singapore's Sportsman of the Year in 1990 and in 1998. He was also conferred the Public Service Medal and Public Service Star for his contribution to sports. He is currently teaching at Assumption English School as a Physical Education teacher.
Natalia Rahman is an Australian sport shooter. She won a gold and silver medal in the women's skeet shooting, at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, coincidentally in her home city, accumulating a score of 90 targets. She has also won a bronze medal for Australia at the world cup in Shanghai, and bronze medal at the World Championships in Cairo, and silver medal at the World Championships in Finland. Rahman is also the sister of two-time Olympian Paul Rahman, and the daughter of her personal coach Goran Rahman.
Stacy Roiall is a New Zealand-born Australian sport shooter. She won two medals in the women's trap at the 2004 ISSF World Cup in Sydney, Australia, and at the 2005 ISSF World Cup in Rome, Italy, with scores of 94 and 86 targets, respectively. She also captured a gold medal in the same discipline, along with her partner Laetischa Scanlan, at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, setting a new games record of 93 clay pigeons.
Susan Valerie McCready is an Australian sport shooter. Since 1997, McCready had won a total of eleven medals in both air and small-bore rifle at the Oceania Shooting Championships. She also captured a gold medal in the women's 50 m rifle three positions at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, accumulating a score of 667.3 points. McCready is the wife of three-time Olympian and pistol shooter Daniel Repacholi.
George Raymond Barton is an Australian sport shooter. He won a bronze medal in men's skeet pair shooting, along with his brother Clive Barton, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, with a total score of 183 points.
Bruce James Quick is an Australian sport shooter. Since 1988, Quick had won a total of forty three medals in the rapid fire, centre fire, standard pistol, 50m pistol and Air pistol at the Oceanian Shooting Championships. He also captured a bronze medal in the rapid fire pistol pairs, along with his partner David Chapman at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, with a combined score of 1,125 points.
David Keith Moore is an Australian sport shooter. Since 1995, Moore had won a total of twelve medals in the air, standard, centre-fire, and free pistol at the Oceania Shooting Championships. He also captured a gold medal in the free pistol pairs, along with his partner Daniel Repacholi, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, with a combined score of 1,086 points. Moore competed for both air and free pistol shooting events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, but he neither reached the final round, nor claimed an Olympic medal.
Benjamin Burge is an Australian sport shooter. Since 2001, Burge had won a total of seven medals in both air and small-bore rifle at the Oceania Shooting Championships. He also captured a bronze medal for the men's 50 m rifle three positions at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, accumulating a score of 1,238.2 points.
Lin Yi-chun is a Taiwanese sport shooter. She won two medals, gold and silver, in the women's double trap, at the 2001 and 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Cairo, Egypt and Lahti, Finland, respectively. She also captured a bronze medal in the women's trap at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, accumulating a score of 80 clay pigeons and a bonus of 1 target from a shoot-off. She won gold at the 2023 ISSF World Shooting Championships in trap.
Michael Babb is a British sport shooter. He has competed for Team GB in small-bore rifle prone at two Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 2004, finishing in seventh position. Apart from his Olympic career, Babb has won a total of seven medals in a major international competition, including two silvers at the Commonwealth Games. Throughout his sporting career, Babb trains full-time under assistant head coach Kimmo Yli-Jaskari of the national team, while he shoots at Appleton Rifle Club in Warrington.
