Ybor City Museum State Park is a Florida State Park in Tampa,Florida's Ybor City. The museum occupies the former Ferlita Bakery building at 1818 9th Avenue in the Ybor City Historic District. The bakery was known for producing cuban bread and its ovens are part of the museum displays covering the history of the cigar industry and the Latin community from the 1880s through the 1930s. There is also an ornamental garden in the building.

The organization has many participants and is sponsored by both gay and straight members. The district is roughly centered on 8th Avenue and 15th Street in Ybor,with large rainbow flags &GaYBOR signs as markers. A yearly event around the 4th of July called "GaYBOR Days" is held in the district featuring celebrity appearances and street celebrations. Former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio originally met with the leaders of the group on several occasions to help with planning and issues such as police protection,including that by gay and lesbian officers. Current Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn has met several times with the Coalition. As an organization,there are members of GaYBOR across the states of Florida and Georgia.
The 2011 Tampa Mayoral Election took place in March 2011,in the city of Tampa,Florida. Incumbent Mayor Pam Iorio was prevented from seeking a third term due to term limits,creating an open seat. Candidates Rose Ferlita and Bob Buckhorn placed first and second,respectively,in the mayoral election held on March 1,2011. Because neither candidate received a majority of the vote,a runoff took place on March 22,2011,which Buckhorn won.
The Tampa Riverwalk is a 2.6-mile-long (4.2 km) open space and pedestrian trail along the Hillsborough River in Tampa,Florida. The Riverwalk extends along most of the downtown Tampa waterfront from the Channelside District on the eastern terminus to the mouth of the Hillsborough River and then north along the riverside to Tampa Heights,forming a continuous path that connects a multitude of parks,attractions,public spaces,and hotels. Among the notable points of interest along the Riverwalk are the Tampa Bay History Center,Amalie Arena,the Tampa Convention Center,Rivergate Tower,Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park,Water Works Park,and the Waterfront Arts District which includes the Tampa Museum of Art,Florida Museum of Photographic Arts,Glazer Children's Museum,and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Locations along the Riverwalk play host to many community events,most notably the numerous festivals held at Curtis Hixon Park and the arrival of the "pirate ship" Jose Gasparilla,which moors at the Riverwalk behind the Convention Center during the Gasparilla Pirate Festival.
Robert Francis Buckhorn Jr. is an American politician who served as the mayor of Tampa,Florida from 2011 to 2019. He is a member of the Democratic Party who also served two terms on the Tampa City Council.
St. Petersburg,Florida,held a general election for mayor on August 29 and November 7,2017,with a primary election which took place on August 29,2017. Incumbent mayor Rick Kriseman,a Democrat,opted to seek re-election. His opponent in the runoff was Republican former mayor Rick Baker (2001–2010). The election was officially non-partisan.

The 2021 St. Petersburg,Florida,mayoral election was held on August 24,2021,with a runoff on November 2 because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the first round. It elected the mayor of St. Petersburg,Florida. Incumbent Democratic mayor Rick Kriseman was term-limited and could not seek a third term in office. Municipal elections in St. Petersburg are officially nonpartisan. Former Pinellas County commissioner Ken Welch easily defeated city councilor Robert Blackmon in the runoff. Candidates eliminated in the first round included city councilor Darden Rice,former state representative Wengay Newton,and restaurateur Pete Boland. Welch took office in January 2022,becoming the first black mayor of St. Petersburg.
