<i>Aim for the Ace!</i> Manga and anime series

Aim for the Ace!, known in Japan as Ace o Nerae!, is a manga series written and illustrated by Sumika Yamamoto. The series tells the story of Hiromi Oka, a high school student who wants to become a professional tennis player as she struggles against mental weakness, anxiety and thwarted love. It was originally serialized in Shueisha's shōjo magazine Margaret from January 1973 to February 1980. Later, Shueisha collected the chapters and published them in 18 tankōbon volumes.

<i>Gunbuster</i> 1988 anime directed by Hideaki Anno

Gunbuster, known in Japan as Top o Nerae!, is a Japanese OVA anime series produced by Bandai Visual, Victor, and Gainax and released from 1988 to 1989. It was the directorial debut of Hideaki Anno, best known as the creator and director of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The title is a combination of the titles of classic tennis manga and anime Aim for the Ace! and hit action drama film Top Gun, whose plot inspired Gunbuster's. To celebrate Gainax's 20th anniversary in 2004, a sequel to Gunbuster, Diebuster, was released as an OVA. The sequel features new characters and mecha, but retains the format and many of the concepts of the original series.

The Death Busters are a group of fictional characters in the Sailor Moon manga series written by Naoko Takeuchi. This group comprises the villains of the third major story arc, which is called the Infinity in the manga, Sailor Moon S in the first anime adaptation, and Death Busters in Sailor Moon Crystal. They are first introduced in chapter #27 "Infinity 1 – Premonition", originally published in Japan on July 7, 1994. In the Cloverway English adaptation, they are called the "Heart Snatchers".

Chouriki Sentai Ohranger is a Japanese tokusatsu television series and the 19th installment in the long-running Super Sentai metaseries of superhero programs. It aired from March 3, 1995, to February 23, 1996, replacing Ninja Sentai Kakuranger and was replaced by Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It is the second ancient civilization–themed Super Sentai, preceded by Dai Sentai Goggle-V. Its footage was used in the American series Power Rangers Zeo.

Dai-Guard is an anime television series, produced and animated by XEBEC, and directed by Seiji Mizushima. It aired from October 5, 1999, to March 28, 2000, on TV Tokyo, running for 26 episodes. 6 volumes of videos were released on VHS and DVD. The series also had a very brief run on Cartoon Network through Toonami's "Giant Robot Week".

Devil Lady, known in Japan as Devilman Lady, is a 1997 manga series written and illustrated by Go Nagai. It is the sequel to Devilman. It was originally serialized by Kodansha from January 1997 to July 2000 in the magazine Weekly Morning, and later collected in 17 volumes. The story follows Jun Fudo, a model who can transform into the powerful Devil Lady and protects humanity from devil beasts and their creations.

Space Sheriff Shaider is a Japanese tokusatsu television show that aired from March 2, 1984, to March 8, 1985. It is the last of the "Space Sheriff Series" of the broader Metal Hero Series franchise, it is a sequel the previous two being Space Sheriff Gavan and Space Sheriff Sharivan.

The Brave Police J-Decker is the fifth series of the anime television meta Brave series (Yūsha) created by Takara and Sunrise. It aired in Japan from February 5, 1994 to January 28, 1995. Brave Police J-Decker returns the series to a subtly lighter tone, focusing more on the concept of "robot as human-built AI construct" emphasized by the previous season's series, The Brave Express Might Gaine. Nekketsu Saikyō Go-Saurer is a 51-episode animated television series, and third generation Eldran franchise funded by Tomy after Genki Bakuhatsu Ganbaruger and produced by Sunrise. It aired in Japan from March 3, 1993, to February 23, 1994. The story for this entry is that a group of elementary school children are given command of the series' title mecha and their efforts to defend the Earth from the hands of the Mechanization Empire which was led by Kikaishin, the boss of this organization himself. It firstly introduces a female pilot, additional pilots who pilot auxiliary mecha and jet mode. In addition, it is the first season to start with four pilots, having all members having the same bracelet and introduce a super robot piloted by multiple pilots.

Dancouga Nova – Super God Beast Armor is a Super Robot anime television series, produced by Ashi Productions and is directed by Masami Ōbari, who was also in charge of mechanical design. The series is supposedly a follow-up of its predecessor, Dancouga – Super Beast Machine God. The series premiered across Japan on the Japanese CS television network Animax, and also KBS Kyoto on 15 February 2007, spanning a total of 12 episodes.

Noriko Takaya is a fictional character from the Gunbuster franchise, created by Gainax. She is the franchise's most developed character and protagonist. In the anime series of the same name, Noriko is the daughter of deceased space captain Yuzo Takaya. When she was young, she wanted to follow her father. Years later, she joins the Okinawa Girls' Space Pilot High School to learn to pilot a mecha. She goes with "big sister" Kazumi Amano to space to defend Earth against extraterrestrials known as space monsters. By the end of the story, she grows to be a master pilot.
