Dieter Lindner (born 11 June 1939 in Breslau) is a German former football player. [1]

Lindner played for Eintracht Frankfurt since his youth and remained at his home club the entire career. He appeared in 321 matches in the Oberliga and the new founded Bundesliga. In European fixtures he played 24 times.

In the 1980–81 season, he was vice president for the Eagles and was interim president between May and October 1996. He also was for several years a member of the board of directors.

Lindner is an honoured member and honoured captain of Eintracht Frankfurt.

1958–59 Oberliga

The 1958–59 Oberliga was the fourteenth season of the Oberliga, the first tier of the football league system in West Germany. The league operated in five regional divisions, Berlin, North, South, Southwest and West. The five league champions and the runners-up from the west, south, southwest and north then entered the 1959 German football championship which was won by Eintracht Frankfurt. It was Frankfurt's sole national championship win. The 1959 final was one of only two post Second World War finals to go into extra time, the other having been in 1949.
