Dino Lopez (born 13 January 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a Canadian retired soccer player who played in the National Soccer League, Canadian Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League, USISL A-League, National Professional Soccer League, and the Canadian Professional Soccer League.
The Jamaica-born defender was raised in North York, Ontario and has played in his career for York University who was named a 1989 OUA East All-Star. [1] In 1987, he played in the National Soccer League with Toronto Italia, and ultimately played three seasons. [2] [3] In 1990, he played in the Canadian Soccer League for the London Lasers (1990, 1992), Nova Scotia Clippers (1991). [4] He was an original member of the Montreal Impact. [5] In 1994, he played for the Toronto Rockets, a team which lasted only one season in the APSL. In 1995, he signed with the Milwaukee Rampage where he would play the next three outdoor seasons. [6] He retired following the 1997 season, but came out of retirement to play two games with the 1998 Rampage after injuries decimated the back line. [7]
In addition to his outdoor career, Lopez also spent several seasons playing winter indoor soccer. In 1995, he signed with the Buffalo Blizzard of the National Professional Soccer League. [8] He also spent the 1996-1997 NSPL season with the Toronto Shooting Stars. [9] In 1998, he signed with the newly expansion franchise the Toronto Olympians in the newly formed Canadian Professional Soccer League. Throughout the 1998 CPSL season, Lopez achieved an undefeated streak with the Olympians the first club within the league to achieve this milestone. As well as winning the double by winning the regular season and the Open Canada Cup. The club reached the playoff finals but were defeated by the St. Catharines Wolves by 4–2 victory in a penalty shootout. [10]
He won one cap for Canada, playing his only game on 3 September 1992 in Saint John, New Brunswick against the United States. [11]
From 2002 to 2006 Lopez was the U12 Development Director for the Oakville Soccer Club, and from 2006 to 2012 he coached the U-16 team. [12] On July 24, 2012, the Oakville Soccer Club announced that he would take on the role of Technical Director [13] at the club.
The Canadian Soccer League championship final or CSL Championship is the post-season match of the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) and is the successor to the CNSL Championship. The winner is crowned champion in the same manner as in other North American sports leagues. This differs from other top soccer leagues around the world which consider the club with the most points at the end of the season to be the sole champion. It is a Non-FIFA championship match that was previously sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) but is now affiliated with the Soccer Federation of Canada (SFC).
Eddy Berdusco is a Canadian retired professional soccer player. A former forward, he began his career in the Canadian Soccer League, where he finished as the third all-time highest goalscorer. After the demise of the CSL he spent some time abroad in Europe, China, before returning to North America to play with the Milwaukee Rampage. Berdusco would spend the remainder of his career in the Canadian Professional Soccer League, winning several team championships with the Toronto Olympians, and retiring with the Toronto Supra in 2002.
St. Catharines Roma Wolves, are a Canadian soccer team, founded in 1967. The team currently plays in the semi-professional League1 Ontario in both the men's and women's divisions. The club is a former member of the Canadian Soccer League (CSL), where it fielded a professional team from 1998 to 2013, and now operates youth teams in the Peninsula Soccer League. Teams play out of Club Roma in St. Catharines, Ontario in the Niagara Peninsula. The team's colours are dark red and white, mimicking those of the famous Italian club A.S. Roma.
The Durham Storm were a Canadian soccer team that last played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL) in 2005. The club was founded as the Toronto Olympians in 1998 and played in Toronto, Ontario through 2001, before being renamed the Mississauga Olympians for 2002 and 2003. The team relocated to Oshawa, Ontario in Durham Region for the 2004 and 2005 seasons and was renamed Durham Storm.

The 1998Canadian Professional Soccer League season was the inaugural season under the Canadian Professional Soccer League name. The season began on May 31, 1998, and concluded on October 14, 1998, with the St. Catharines Wolves defeating the Toronto Olympians in 4-2 victory in a penalty shootout to claim the first CPSL Championship held at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto, Ontario. Though Toronto was denied the treble they still managed to go undefeated the entire regular season, and dominate the league with the best offensive and defensive record.
