Dissonanze was a yearly festival focused on electronic music held in Rome, Italy. The first edition was in 2000. Besides music it also focuses on multimedia & video art. The festival takes place at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome.
A festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect of that community and its religion or cultures. It is often marked as a local or national holiday, mela, or eid. Next to religion and folklore, a significant origin is agricultural. Electronic music is music that employs electronic musical instruments, digital instruments and circuitry-based music technology. Examples of electromechanical sound producing devices include the telharmonium, Hammond organ, and the electric guitar, which are typically made loud enough for performers and audiences to hear with an instrument amplifier and speaker cabinet. Pure electronic instruments do not have vibrating strings, hammers, or other sound-producing mechanisms. Devices such as the theremin, synthesizer, and computer can produce electronic sounds.
