Djibril Diawara (born 3 January 1975 ) is a retired French-Senegalese footballer.

Career

He played for Le Havre, Monaco, Torino and Bolton Wanderers during his professional career.

Diawara played in Jean Tigana's talented Monaco side which famously put Manchester United out of the Champions League in 1998 on away goals after a 1–1 draw at Old Trafford. [1]

He went on loan to Bolton in the Premier League in 2001 and made 9 league appearances, getting sent off once against Everton. [2]

The 2004–05 season was Liverpool Football Club's 113th season in existence and their 43rd consecutive season in the top-flight of English football. The season began on 1 July 2004 and concluded on 30 June 2005, with competitive matches played between August and May. Liverpool finished fourth in the previous Premier League season. The 2011–12 Premier League was the 20th season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. The season began on 13 August 2011 and ended on 13 May 2012 with Manchester City sealing their third league title – their first since 1968 – with victory over Queens Park Rangers on the final day. The title was City's first Premier League success, making them the fifth club to win the Premier League in its 20-year history. City finished level on 89 points with Manchester United, but their goal difference was eight better than their local rivals', making it the only time the Premier League had been won on goal difference.

The 2019–20 season was Monaco's seventh consecutive season in Ligue 1 since promotion from Ligue 2 in 2013. Monaco finished the season in ninth position, on 1.43 points per game, after the season was ended on 30 April by the Ligue de Football Professionnel due to the COVID-19 pandemic in France. In the Coupe de France, Monaco were eliminated in the round of 16 by Saint-Étienne. In the Coupe de la Ligue, Monaco were eliminated by Lille in the same stage.
