The Fifth Doctor Adventures is a Big Finish Productions audio play series based on the television series Doctor Who . It sees the return of Peter Davison reprising his role as the Fifth Doctor.
In 1999, beginning with the story " The Sirens of Time ", Big Finish Productions began producing a series of audio adventures featuring the Fifth Doctor, Sixth Doctor and Seventh Doctor. For 22 years these stories continued collectively known as Big Finish's " Main Range ". [1] [2] In May 2020, Big Finish announced the main range would conclude in March 2021 and subsequently replaced with regular releases of each Doctor's adventures continuing in their own respective ranges. [3] [4] Several previously released special titles were retroactively reallocated into these new ranges by Big Finish.

A second boxset is scheduled for release in September 2024. [15] Big Finish's Creative Director Nicholas Briggs described them as "...really imaginative,celebratory adventures that feel like Classic Doctor Who turned right up to eleven,in the very best of ways". [16]

On 23 May 2024,Big Finish announced their slate of boxsets for 2025. Senior Producer John Ainsworth said "...in 2025,Peter Davison stars in a 12-part Fifth Doctor story for the first time ever. It's an epic featuring new worlds,new creatures and a searing light that could burn everything to dust." [17] The two boxsets are scheduled for release in April [18] and May 2025, [19] respectively.

Big Finish Productions is a British company that produces books and audio plays based,primarily,on science fiction properties. The Sirens of Time is a 1999 audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It was the first Big Finish Productions audio drama based on the series and became the first in the company's Main Range. The story was written and directed by Nicholas Briggs,and stars Peter Davison,Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy,who reprise their roles as three incarnations of the Doctor. In the story,the three Doctors team up to defend their home planet of Gallifrey.

Doctor Who:The Monthly Adventures,formerly subtitled as the Main Range,is a series that consists of full-cast audio dramas based on the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who,produced by Nicholas Briggs and Big Finish Productions and starring one of the original actors to play The Doctor on television in the classic era of the programme. The main audio series currently feature the Fifth,Sixth and Seventh Doctors,and have since developed the pattern of thirteen releases per year,one every month with two in September or December. In 2012,Big Finish Productions began producing audio dramas featuring Doctor Who's fourth Doctor,as portrayed by Tom Baker. Baker had previously declined to feature in any Big Finish releases,but after recording a trilogy of full cast audio boxsets for BBC Audiobooks,he decided to participate. This was also part of a spin off series of the Monthly range.
