Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. Kannada cinema is based in Gandhi Nagar, Bangalore. The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film released in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and the first screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. It was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.
Udaya Chandrika, better known by her screen name Radha is a former Indian actress, who predominantly appeared in Tamil and Telugu films in addition to a few Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. ...Re is a 2016 Indian Kannada comedy film written and directed by Sunil Kumar Desai. The film has an ensemble cast consisting of veteran actors: Ramesh Aravind, Anant Nag, Master Hirannaiah, Loknath, Shivaram, Tennis Krishna, Ramesh Bhat, Vaijanath Biradar, Sharath Lohithaswa, Suman, G. K. Govinda Rao among others. Harshika Poonacha and debutant actress Suman play female leads in the film. Ananth Nag had revealed that the movie is thematically similar to Badal Sircar's play Ballabpurer Roopkatha.

Amrutha Iyengar is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Kannada films. She is a recipient of two South Indian International Movie Awards along with two Filmfare Awards South nominations.
Sreeleela is an American actress of Indian origin who predominantly works in Telugu and Kannada cinema. She began her career as a child artist in 2017, before playing a leading role in the 2019 Kannada film Kiss, and then starred in the Telugu films Pelli SandaD (2021) and Dhamaka (2022). The lattermost won her the SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Telugu. In 2023 and 2024, she had four critical and commercial failures in Skanda, Aadikeshava, Extra Ordinary Man, and Guntur Kaaram.
KRG Studios is an Indian film production and distribution company based in Bengaluru, India. It primarily deals with the production and distribution of Kannada-language and non-Kannada films across Karnataka.
Maharshi is the soundtrack album composed by Devi Sri Prasad for the 2019 Tollywood film of the same name starring Mahesh Babu, Pooja Hegde, and Allari Naresh in lead roles, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film marks Devi's second collaboration with Paidipally after Yevadu (2014). The album consists of eight songs with Sri Mani penning all the lyrics of the Telugu version. The soundtrack album was released digitally on 15 May 2019 on the Aditya Music label.

Karthik Mahesh is an Indian actor and model. His popularity increased after he won Bigg Boss Kannada on 28 January 2024. He has acted in both Kannada and Telugu tele serials. He became popular as Chandru in the Zee Kannada television soap Puttakkana Makkalu.
