Brian "Dolph" Taylor (born 10 November 1958) is a British former drummer.
Taylor's first band was Dragon's Playground, which earlier had had Annie Lennox as a vocalist. [1] In 1976 Dragon's Playground appeared on ATV's New Faces .
His career with the Tom Robinson Band started when Taylor gave a friend a lift to an audition as bass guitarist for the Tom Robinson Band in 1976. As the band had no drummer at that point, Taylor (who was already a drummer) filled in. By the end of the evening, the band was still looking for a bass guitarist, but had found their drummer. He stayed for two years, eventually resigning in 1978.
In 1982 he joined Stiff Little Fingers, playing on the £1.10 or less EP, and the Now Then... (1982) album, before the band split in 1983.
In 1983 after the demise of SLF, Taylor become the occasional session drummer for producer Nick Tauber. Towards the end of 1983 through his work with Nick Tauber, he was introduced to and joined Spear of Destiny as their full-time drummer. [2] Dolph became a part of The Engine Room, the Spear of Destiny rhythm section, along with bass player Stan Stammers. He left Spear of Destiny in 1986 after they were dropped by their record label CBS, and after the band went through a line-up change.
Taylor also was working with a German artist for quite some time in the late 70's and early 80's, singer-songwriter Marius Müller-Westernhagen, appearing on the latter's 1983 album 'Geiler Is' Schon', as an example.
In 1987 Taylor was asked to join the reformed SLF, with whom he stayed until 1996, playing on 1991's Flags and Emblems and 1994's Get a Life .
In 1997 he and one time SLF manager Russell Emanuel set up Extreme Music, a company that composes and sells production music.
Stiff Little Fingers are a punk rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They formed in 1977 at the height of the Troubles, which informed much of their songwriting. They started out as a schoolboy band called Highway Star, doing rock covers, until they discovered punk. They were the first punk band in Belfast to release a record – the "Suspect Device" single came out on their own independent label, Rigid Digits. Their album Inflammable Material, released in partnership with Rough Trade, became the first independent LP to enter the UK top 20.

Brian Faloon is a musician born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He played drums for Highway Star, who were to become Stiff Little Fingers, having met two of the other band members at Belfast Boys' Model School. Faloon stayed with SLF long enough to record their first album Inflammable Material but decided the rock 'n' roll lifestyle wasn't for him, so left the band, inspiring the words to SLF's single "Wait and See". In the nineties, Faloon occasionally performed as a guest drummer with the SLF tribute band Hanx who went on to become minor Punk band 'The Red Eyes'.
Alistair Jardine "Ali" McMordie is a bass guitarist, best known as a founding member of Stiff Little Fingers, playing with the band from 1977 until they broke up in 1983, and joined them on the first few years of reunion tours five years later.
Nick Catanese is an American musician. He is best known as a former rhythm guitarist for heavy metal band Black Label Society. He supported lead player Zakk Wylde, who has commented that "If I'm Keith Richards, he's Mick Taylor". In 2018, Catanese was found guilty of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Dead Men Walking are a British based rock supergroup with a multi national line-up, who have toured the UK, Ireland and the United States. From 2001 to 2006 they were led by Mike Peters of the Alarm and Kirk Brandon, of Spear of Destiny, with a varying cast of musicians. Since 2015, they split into two bands, one led by Peters called the Jack Tars, and another led by Brandon keeping the Dead Men Walking name.
