Super Bowl XXXVII was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Oakland Raiders and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2002 season. The Buccaneers defeated the Raiders by the score of 48–21, tied with Super Bowl XXXV for the seventh-largest Super Bowl margin of victory, winning their first-ever Super Bowl. The game was played on January 26, 2003, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California.

David Marshall Blough is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the assistant quarterbacks coach for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Purdue Boilermakers and signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Following an injury to Matthew Stafford and Jeff Driskel, Blough started the final five games of the Detroit Lions' 2019 season. He is married to Colombian-American hurdler Melissa Gonzalez.

Despite improving on their 5–11 record from 2018 with a Week 14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, the Buccaneers missed the playoffs for the twelfth consecutive season, which meant the Buccaneers were one of two teams to not qualify for the postseason in the 2010s, with the other team being the Cleveland Browns.
Desmond Kelly Ridder is an American professional football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Cincinnati, where he was twice-named AAC Offensive Player of the Year before being selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Ridder has also been a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
