Donald Jones is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives,representing the 95th district since January 2019. Jones's district includes all of Carroll,Harrison,and Noble counties and portions of Belmont and Washington counties. Prior to elected office,Jones served as an agricultural education teacher at Harrison Central High School. [1] He also serves as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. [2]
Former State Representative Andy Thompson's term expired at the end of 2018. Thompson had served 8 years in the Ohio House and was term limited per the Ohio Constitution causing an open seat in the 95th district. [3] Unopposed in the Republican primary,Jones went on to win the seat with more than 65% of the vote. [4] He was sworn into office for the first time on January 6,2019.
In 2021,Jone sponsored legislation to ban the teaching that any individual is “inherently racist,”that any individual “bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by the same race or sex,”or that slavery “constitutes the true founding”of the United States. Jones argued,"Critical race theory is a dangerous and flat-out wrong theory." Asked if any Ohio schools actually teach the things that Jones sought to ban,Jones could not cite any examples. [5]

Jan Slaughter Jones is an American politician in Georgia. A Republican,she has been a member of the Georgia House of Representatives since 2003,and was acting Speaker of the House from November 2022 to January 2023 following the death of former Speaker David Ralston. Jones serves as Speaker pro tempore of the House,a position she has held continuously since 2010 with the exception of her brief stint as acting Speaker. She is the state representative for Georgia's 47th House district,which covers some of the northern Atlanta suburbs,including parts of Milton,Roswell,Alpharetta,Mountain Park,and unincorporated Cherokee County.

Joshua 'Josh' O'Farrell is the former Democratic representative for the 96th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. Following the resignation of Representative Allan Sayre in 2010,he was selected to serve the remainder of the term from a pool of five qualified candidates including O'Farrell,former Belmont County Commissioner Mark Thomas and Harrison County Commissioner Barbara Pincola. The 2022 Alabama House of Representatives elections were held on November 8,2022. The Republican and Democratic primaries were held on May 24,2022,and any races in which no candidate exceeded one-half plus one of the total votes advanced to a runoff on June 21,2022. This was the first election cycle since 2002 in which the Libertarian Party of Alabama was on the ballot,as they exceeded the threshold for petition signatures needed to gain ballot access in Alabama. Libertarian candidates were nominated by party convention. All 105 of Alabama's state representatives were up for reelection. In Alabama,members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate serve four-year terms,running in years corresponding with presidential midterm elections.
