Donald Robert Haragen (born April 15,1936) is an American academic. He served as president of Texas Tech University from 1996 to 2000. [1] He is a professor in the Department of Geosciences. [2] Haragan earned his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin in 1969 in civil engineering,a master's degree in meteorology from Texas A&M University, [3] and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1969. [4]
Kent Ronald Hance is an American politician and lawyer who is the former Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System. In his role,he oversaw Texas Tech University,Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Angelo State University in San Angelo,Texas. He is also a lobbyist and lawyer. Hance is the only person to defeat future President George W. Bush and became a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from West Texas,having served from 1979 to 1985. After his congressional service,he switched to the Republican Party and in both 1986 and 1990 ran for governor of Texas,losing in the primary election.

Gerald Glynn"Dirk" West was an editorial cartoonist,journalist,and mayor from Lubbock,Texas,most famous for his caricatures of collegiate mascots. He was born in Littlefield,Texas,but his family moved to Lubbock soon after. He attended Texas Tech University where he drew cartoons for The University Daily student newspaper. He appeared as "Uncle Dirk" on a local children's program for three years while heading up his advertising agency,West Advertising. Beginning in the 1960s,he cartooned for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Texas Tech University Center at Junction is an official off-campus teaching site of Texas Tech University in Junction,Texas. It hosts undergraduate and graduate courses in an intensive three-week period format from May through July.
