Brother Donald Sullivan,OSF was an American academic of Canadian descent. [2] From 1969 to 1995,Sullivan served as the 16th President of St. Francis College in Brooklyn,New York. His 26 years as president is the longest at St. Francis College. [3] [4]
Brother Sullivan served on several boards including the Helen Keller Services for the Blind and Ridgewood Savings Bank. He also was director of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Brooklyn Development Association. [5]
Brother Sullivan took over after Brother Urban Gonnoud resigned in 1969,he served as president for 11 years prior to resigning. Brother Sullivan was 38 years old when he took over. [6] During Brother Sullivan's tenure,St. Francis College became coeducational and its enrollment exceeded 3,000 students for the first time in its history. [3] He also oversaw the construction of the Generoso Pope Athletic Complex in 1971. [3]

The Brooklyn Book Festival is an annual book fair held in the fall in Brooklyn,New York. It was begun in 2006 by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz,co-producers Liz Koch and Carolyn Greer who wanted to showcase the "Brooklyn voice" in literature,as numerous authors reside in the borough. The St. Francis College Literary Prize is a biennial literary award inaugurated in 2009. The prize of US$50,000 is presented to a mid-career author in honor of a third to fifth book of fiction. The winner is selected by a jury and invited to St. Francis College in Brooklyn,New York,for a speech. The SFC Literary Prize is meant to offer encouragement and significant financial support to a mid-career writer. The winner of the prize is announced from a whittled down shortlist during the Brooklyn Book Festival every other year in September.

Glenn Braica is the men's basketball head coach at St. Francis College since 2010. Braica was born in Brooklyn,New York and is an alumnus of Bishop Ford High School and Queens College. Braica began his head coaching career at St. Francis College in 2010 and had 22 years of coaching experience at the time split between New York City Tech,St. Francis and St. John's as an assistant coach.
The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers men's basketball program represents St. Francis College (SFC) in intercollegiate men's basketball. The team is a member of the Division I Northeast Conference. As of late November 2022,the Terriers play home games at the Activity Resource Center at Pratt Institute in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. Through the 2021–22 season,they had played in the Daniel J. Lynch '38 Gym in the Generoso Pope Athletic Complex,located on SFC's former Brooklyn Heights campus. However,after the 2021–22 school year,SFC closed its Brooklyn Heights campus to move to a new campus on Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn. With the new campus lacking any athletic facilities,SFC arranged to use other nearby venues on at least a short-term basis. The Terriers' final game at the Pope Athletic Complex was held on November 19,2022. The Terriers have also hosted home games at Madison Square Garden and at the Barclays Center.

The Terriers play their home games at Brooklyn Bridge Park on Pier 5,which is also located in Brooklyn Heights. The field is located on the East River and has the Manhattan Skyline as a backdrop.

Brother Urban Gonnoud,OSF was an American academic. From 1958 to 1969,Gonnoud served as the 15th President of St. Francis College in Brooklyn,New York. Brother Gonnoud earned his bachelor's degree from St. Francis College in 1942 and his master's degree and his Ph.D. in American History from St. John's University. Brother Gonnoud also received a masters of business administration from New York University in 1958.
Joseph Francis Hanselman was an American Catholic priest and member of the Society of Jesus. In the academic world,he served as the president of the College of the Holy Cross and rector of Woodstock College. He also was the superior of the Maryland-New York Province of the Jesuits and as the American assistant to the Jesuit Superior General in Rome.
