Douglas Garrett Marshall (born February 3, 1977) is an American former professional mixed martial artist. A professional competitor from 2003 until 2014, Marshall has fought in Bellator, Tachi Palace Fights, the Super Fight League, and the Palace Fighting Championship, and the WEC, where he was the Light Heavyweight Champion. 19 of his 26 career bouts have ended via KO.
Born and raised in Visalia, California, Marshall was a star linebacker for his high school football team but was expelled for fighting.
When TPF Middleweight Champion David Loiseau pulled out of a TPF 10 fight with Giva Santana due to an undisclosed injury requiring surgery, Marshall stepped in to face Santana in a middleweight non-title bout. [3] He lost via technical submission in the first round.
He next competed on India's Super Fight League's third event, SFL 3, against Zelg Galešić. [4] He lost the fight via KO early in the first round from a flying knee and punches.
In November 2012, Marshall made his debut for Bellator. He faced Hawaiian fighter Kala Hose at Bellator 82. [5] He won the fight via knockout at just 22 seconds in the first round.
In January 2013, Bellator announced Marshall as a competitor in the Season Eight Middleweight Tournament. His quarterfinal fight took place at Bellator 89 against Andreas Spang. He won the fight via TKO in the first round. Marshall then faced Sultan Aliev in the semifinals at Bellator 92, He won via split decision.
Having earned his title shot, Marshall faced Alexander Shlemenko on November 22, 2013 at Bellator 109 for the Bellator Middleweight Championship. He lost the fight via KO due to a body shot in the first round. Following the fight, Marshall tested positive for a banned substance and was subsequently fined and banned by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission until February 7, 2014. [6]

The American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) is a mixed martial arts gym based in San Jose, California. It is one of the pioneering schools of mixed martial arts (MMA). In 2014, AKA opened the AKA Thailand gym in Phuket, Thailand. Prominent trainers include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Leandro Vieira, Bob Cook, Derek Yuen, Javier Mendez, and Andy Fong. Within the facility, Muay Thai, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling and boxing classes are taught. Additional programs include conditioning and circuit training with TRX Suspension and Combat Circuit. The AKA is one of the top professional MMA training camps.
David Loiseau is a Canadian former mixed martial artist from Montreal, Quebec. He has fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, EliteXC, and TKO Major League MMA veteran. He is the former TKO World Middleweight Champion and former two-time TKO Canadian Middleweight Champion. He was also a former TPF Middleweight Champion. He was the first French-speaking Canadian to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Loiseau has also played a gang member in French-Canadian movie La rage de l'ange. Loiseau wrote and acted in a short film called Keelos, featuring hip-hop artist Imposs and Stand-up comedian Eddy King.
Paulo Filho, is a Brazilian retired mixed martial artist who last competed in the Middleweight division. A professional competitor from 2000 until 2014, Filho was the last WEC Middleweight Champion, and also competed in PRIDE, DREAM, Pancrase, DEEP, Impact FC, and the World Series of Fighting.
Robert Alexander McCullough IV is an American former Muay Thai kickboxer and professional mixed martial artist. A professional from 2001-2011 in MMA, McCullough has formerly competed for the WEC, Bellator, DREAM, the World Fighting Alliance, the Palace Fighting Championship, and King of the Cage. In professional kickboxing, McCullough has competed for K-1.
Bart K. Palaszewski is a retired Polish-American professional mixed martial artist who most recently competed in the UFC's Featherweight division. A professional competitor from 2002 until 2014, Palaszewski has also formerly competed for the WEC, the Quad Cities Silverbacks of the IFL, and King of the Cage.
Melvin Manhoef is a retired Surinamese-born Dutch mixed martial artist and kickboxer. In kickboxing, he is a former It's Showtime Middleweight Champion, and in MMA he was the Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Champion. In mixed martial arts, he competed in Bellator's Light heavyweight and Middleweight division and has also formerly competed for Strikeforce, DREAM, RINGS, It's Showtime, K-1, ONE FC, and KSW. Manhoef is known for his fearsome knockout power. Twenty-nine of his 32 wins have come via knockout, the highest percentage of any MMA fighter with at least 15 wins.
James Lee Irvin is a retired American professional mixed martial artist, who was a professional competitor from 2003 to 2012, Irvin is the former WEC Heavyweight Champion and has also competed in the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator and KSW.
John Paul Alessio is a Canadian retired professional mixed martial artist. A former competitor in Bellator's Lightweight division. A professional competitor since 1998, Alessio has also formerly competed for the UFC where he was a former Welterweight title challenger, the WEC, PRIDE, King of the Cage, MFC and DREAM. Alessio is also the former King of the Cage Welterweight Champion and King of the Cage Superfight Champion.
Daniel John Cramer is an American retired mixed martial artist.
