Ana Torroja Fungairiño, 3rd Marchioness of Torroja, is a Spanish singer. She was the lead singer of the pop trio Mecano, considered one of the most popular pop bands from Spain during the 1980s and 1990s. Mecano split in 1998 and she embarked on a solo career.

Selena ¡Vive! was a benefit concert which was held on the tenth anniversary of the death of Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. The concert was held on April 7, 2005 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas with over 70,000 attendees. The special was produced and filmed by the Spanish language network, Univision, and was the most-watched special in the Spanish language in the history of American television. Event host Univision announced that proceeds from "¡Selena Vive!" will go toward 10 scholarships for students looking to pursue higher education at Texas universities.
La Chica Dorada is the debut solo studio album by Mexican singer Paulina Rubio, released on October 20, 1992, by EMI Capitol de México. The album was produced and directed by Miguel Blasco, and written mostly by José Ramón Flórez, Gian Pietro Felisatti and Cesar Valle. Most of the album's composition is primarily "a light and danceable pop", although it includes some elements of pop rock, new jack swing, new wave and a couple of ballads. The album's title has been stuck as Rubio's nickname throughout the Spanish-speaking world ever since.

Rudy La Scala is a singer, songwriter and record producer, born in Rocca di Papa, Lazio, Italy. At a young age, La Scala migrated to Venezuela, where he completed his primary and secondary studies, while learning piano and guitar. He began his career with a short lived band named Las Explosiones de Goma in the 1960s. In 1971 he was presented as a solo artist under the name Flavio, finally presenting himself as Rudy La Scala in 1974. His work as a songwriter has been very successful, including songs recorded by Karina, María Conchita Alonso, Guillermo Dávila, Kiara, Ruddy Rodríguez, Los Chamos, Proyecto M, Carlos Mata, Las Payasitas Nifu Nifa and Gerardo Mora.

At the present time, the winners are selected by the audience through an online survey. The trophy awarded is shaped in the form of a treble clef.
