Dufftown railway station is a preserved railway station that serves the burgh of Dufftown, Moray, Scotland on the Keith and Dufftown Railway.
The station first opened on 21 February 1862 by the Keith and Dufftown Railway. There was a goods yard to the southwest, which is used for stock storage nowadays. The station closed on 6 May 1968 to passengers. [1] [2] The line for westbound trains was lifted shortly after. Goods traffic ceased around 1991. In 2003, the Keith and Dufftown Association reopened the station and the line as a preserved railway and set up their headquarters at the station.
Dufftown is a burgh in Moray, Scotland. While the town is part of the historic Mortlach parish, the town was established and laid out in the early 19th century as part of a planned new town settlement. The town has several listed 19th century buildings and serves as a regional centre for agriculture, tourism and services. The town is well known for its whisky based economy, as it produces more whisky than any other town in Scotland and is home to several existing and former distilleries.
The Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) was one of the two smallest of the five major Scottish railway companies prior to the 1923 Grouping, operating in the north-east of the country. Formed in 1845, it carried its first passengers the 39 miles (63 km) from Kittybrewster, in Aberdeen, to Huntly on 20 September 1854. By 1867 it owned 226+1⁄4 route miles (364.1 km) of line and operated over a further 61 miles (98 km).
The Keith and Dufftown Railway is a heritage railway in Scotland, running for 11 miles (18 km) from Keith Town, Keith to Dufftown via Drummuir and Auchindachy.
Keith railway station is a railway station serving the town of Keith, Moray, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Aberdeen to Inverness Line, between Huntly and Elgin, measured 53 miles 8 chains (85.5 km) from Aberdeen, or 30 miles 20 chains (48.7 km) from Forres.
The Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway (I&AJR) was a railway company in Scotland, created to connect other railways and complete the route between Inverness and Aberdeen. The Inverness and Nairn Railway had opened to the public on 7 November 1855 and the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) was building from Aberdeen to Keith. The I&AJR opened, closing the gap, on 18 August 1856.
The Strathspey Railway was a railway company in Scotland that ran from Dufftown to Boat of Garten. It was proposed locally but supported by the larger Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR), which wanted to use it as an outlet towards Perth. The GNoSR had to provide much of the funding, and the value of traffic proved to be illusory. The line opened in 1863 to Abernethy, but for the time being was unable to make the desired connection to the southward main line. Although later some through goods traffic developed, the route never achieved its intended purpose.

Drummuir railway station is a preserved station that serves the village of Drummuir, Moray, Scotland on the Keith and Dufftown Railway. The station also served the nearby Drummuir Castle estate and Botriphnie Church and the old churchyard are in the vicinity, together with St Fomac's Well.
Towiemore Halt railway station served the hamlet of Towiemore and its distillery as a private and later as a public halt in Moray, Scotland, from 1937 to 1968 on the Keith and Dufftown Railway. The line was re-opened in 2001 and the station is now a request stop.
Banff railway station was the railway station serving the town of Banff, Banffshire.
Spey Bay railway station was a railway station in Spey Bay, Moray. The railway station was opened by the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) on its Moray Firth coast line in 1886, served by Aberdeen to Elgin trains. The station was originally named Fochabers-on-Spey railway station on 1 May 1886. In November 1893 it became Fochabers railway station, Fochabers and Spey Bay railway station on 1 January 1916 before finally becoming on 1 January 1918 Spey Bay railway station. It closed to regular passenger traffic on 6 May 1968 on the same date as the line itself.
Ladysbridge railway station was a station in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Opened as Lady's Bridge railway station in 1859 it was renamed Ladysbridge railway station by June 1886. The station was in the Parish of Boyndie close to the Banff County Lunatic Asylum or Ladysbridge Hospital. The line from Tillynaught opened in 1859 and a temporary terminus opened at Banff on 30 July 1859 and a permanent station opened in 1860. There was a single platform.
Bridgefoot Halt railway station was opened in 1914. The halt was in the settlement of Bridgefoot close to the town of Banff. The line from Tillynaught opened in 1859 and a temporary terminus opened at Banff on 30 July 1859 and a permanent station opened in 1860. Bridgehouse Halt had a single platform and was opened by the GNoSR. The OS map of 1902 shows a 'Halt' at the site of the 1914 platform without indicating any structure at the site.
Cornhill railway station was an intermediate stop situated on the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) line from Cairnie Junction to Tillynaught. There was only a single platform at Cornhill that served the nearby village that lies in Fordyce Parish, of what was once Banffshire, 8+1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) from Banff itself. The line ran to Tillynaught where it split to reach Banff by a branch line or Elgin by the Moray Coast line.
Glenbarry railway station, previously known as Barry was an intermediate stop with a passing loop situated on the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) line from Cairnie Junction to Tillynaught. There were two platforms at Glenbarry that served the nearby hamlet that lies in what was once Banffshire. The line northwards ran to Tillynaught where it split to reach Banff by a branch line or Elgin by the Moray Coast line.
Knock railway station was an intermediate stop situated on the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) line from Grange and Cairnie Junction to Tillynaught. Knock served the rural community and later the Knockdhu Distillery in Banffshire. The line northwards ran to Tillynaught where it split to reach Banff by a branch line or Elgin by the Moray Coast line.
Linksfield Level Crossing railway station or Linksfield railway station served the local rural area just north of Elgin, Moray, Scotland from 1852 to 1859 on the Morayshire Railway. The line joined the Moray Coast Railway at Lossie Junction and trains ran on to the old Elgin (East) railway station.
Drummuir Curlers' Platform railway station was a private station opened on the Keith and Dufftown Railway for the use of the curlers belonging to the Drummuir Curling Club who played on the nearby Loch Park in the parish of Botriphnie. The GNoSR line ran from Keith to Dufftown.
