Duncan McColl

Duncan McColl (born c. 1955) is an Presbyterian Church USA pastor and former professional football player who played for the Washington Redskins. [1] [2] [3]

McColl was selected by the Redskins as their first pick in the 1977 draft, [4] moved to the reserve list in September 1977, [5] and waived in August 1978. [6]

McColl played college football for Stanford University, following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. William Frazer McColl, Jr. (1930-2023); they are "the only father-son All-American football combination in Stanford history". [7] [8] His brother Milt McColl also played, as did nephew Daniel McColl. [9] [10] His daughter Meredith and son Will both played water polo at Stanford. [11]

Having studied Business Management at UCLA, he and his wife Emily, both enrolled at Princeton Theological Seminary following the death of a infant son. Both graduated and were ordained on June 30, 1996 [12] and both have served congregations in the San Diego Presbytery. As of August 2018, he is the pastor at Mira Mesa Presbyterian Church in San Diego. [13] . McColl spent a couple of years of his childhood with his family in Korea, as his father served with the UPCUSA as a Medical Missionary, an orthopedic surgeonat a Leprosy Hospital, following his NFL Career.

James Michael Curtis was an American professional football player for the Baltimore Colts, the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins, who played 14 seasons from 1965 to 1978 in the National Football League (NFL). He was a four-time Pro Bowler in 1968, 1970, 1971 and 1974. Although sacks were not official during the time he played, Curtis was a good blitzer, recording 22 sacks, including one in which a famous photograph was taken of Curtis tackling Roman Gabriel's head. Curtis also picked off 25 passes and was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 1970 by a panel of 101 sportswriters.

William Frazer McColl Jr. was an American athlete, surgeon and politician. He is best remembered as a college football star before becoming a professional with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL), for whom he played from 1952 to 1959. He played college football at Stanford, where he was a two-time consensus All-American and third runner-up in the 1951 Heisman Trophy voting. In 1951, he was the first person to receive the W.J. Voit Memorial Trophy as the outstanding football player on the Pacific Coast.

Milton Bird McColl is an American physician and former football linebacker. He played college football at Stanford University and in the National Football League (NFL) from 1981 to 1988, during which he played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1981 to 1987 and Los Angeles Raiders in 1988. With the 49ers, McColl appeared in Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XIX. He is the son of former Stanford and NFL end Bill McColl.
