The Dutch Journal of Music Theory, or Tijdschrift voor Muziektheorie (ISSN 1385-3066 [print], 1876-2824 [online]) was a peer-reviewed, academic journal specializing in music theory and analysis. It appeared from 1996 until 2013 and was published by Amsterdam University Press triannually in issues of about 80 pages. [1] It includes articles and reviews in Dutch, English, and German.
Its website describes the Dutch Journal of Music Theory as serving "the professional music theorist, the musician or musicologist whose work involves music theory, and the reader who is otherwise interested in the structure and function of music. [It] contains main articles, research papers and essays, and includes discussion, book reviews, reports and announcements. The journal covers a wide range of music: from medieval to contemporary music, form classical to non-western music, from pop to jazz music. In addition to submissions which focus specifically on music theory, the journal also welcomes contributions addressing music pedagogical, historical, philosophical, or critical issues." [2]
From 2014 onwards the Dutch Journal of Music Theory is published by Leuven University Press and appears under the new name Music Theory and Analysis (MTA), International Journal of the Dutch-Flemish Society for Music Theory. It is edited by Pieter Bergé, Steven Vande Moortele and Nathan J. Martin.

It is the official journal of the Society for Music Theory, and is published by Oxford University Press. The journal was first published in 1979 as the official organ of the Society for Music Theory, which had been founded in 1977 and had its first conference in 1978. Unlike many other journals, Music Theory Spectrum was initially published in an oblong (landscape) page format, to better accommodate such musical graphics as Schenkerian graphs.

Pacific Affairs(PA) is a Canadian peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes academic research on contemporary political, economic, and social issues in Asia and the Pacific. The journal was founded in 1926 as the newsletter for the entirety of the Institute of Pacific Relations (IPR). In May 1928, PA adopted its current name, and has been published continuously since. From 1934 to 1942, the journal was edited by Owen Lattimore, then William L. Holland.

Theoria: Historical Aspects of Music Theory is a peer-reviewed academic journal specializing in music theory and analysis. It was established in 1985, under the auspices of the University of North Texas College of Music. According to its website, "Theoria is a peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of history in music theory. This includes critical articles representing the current stage of research, and editions of newly discovered or mostly unknown theoretical texts with translation and commentary." The journal's first editor in chief was Mark McCune. It is currently edited by Frank Heidlberger. In 2017 volume 24 was published. Publisher since volume 13 is the University of North Texas Press.
Music Analysis is a peer-reviewed academic journal specializing in music theory and analysis. It is based in England and published its first issue in 1982. Although the journal "is not produced on behalf of a society, it is closely associated with the Society for Music Analysis."

Diederik Alexander Stapel is a Dutch former professor of social psychology at Tilburg University. In 2011 Tilburg University suspended Stapel for fabricating and manipulating data for his research publications. This scientific misconduct took place over a number of years and affected dozens of his publications. As of 2019, Stapel has had 58 of these publications retracted and is regarded by some as "the biggest con man in academic science".

Mark Coeckelbergh is a Belgian philosopher of technology. He is Professor of Philosophy of Media and Technology at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Vienna and former President of the Society for Philosophy and Technology. He was previously Professor of Technology and Social Responsibility at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, Managing Director of the 3TU Centre for Ethics and Technology, and a member of the Philosophy Department of the University of Twente. Before moving to Austria, he has lived and worked in Belgium, the UK, and the Netherlands. He is the author of several books, including Growing Moral Relations (2012), Human Being @ Risk (2013), Environmental Skill (2015), Money Machines (2015), New Romantic Cyborgs (2017), Moved by Machines (2019), the textbook Introduction to Philosophy of Technology (2019), and AI Ethics (2020). He has written many articles and is an expert in ethics of artificial intelligence. He is best known for his work in philosophy of technology and ethics of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), he has also published in the areas of moral philosophy and environmental philosophy.
The American Institute of Musicology (AIM) is a musicological organization that researches, promotes and produces publications on early music. Founded in 1944 by Armen Carapetyan, the AIM's chief objective is the publication of modern editions of medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque compositions and works of music theory. Among the series it produces are the Corpus mensurabilis musicae (CMM), Corpus Scriptorum de Musica (CSM) and Corpus of Early Keyboard Music (CEKM). In CMM specifically, the AIM has published the entire surviving oeuvres of a considerable amount of composers, most notably the complete works of Guillaume de Machaut and Guillaume Du Fay, among many others. The CSM, which focuses on music theory, has published the treatises of important theorists such as Guido of Arezzo and Jean Philippe Rameau. The breadth and quality of publications produced by the AIM constitutes a central contribution to the study, practice and performance of early music.
