EDGLRD (pronounced "edgelord") is an American creative and technology company founded in 2023 by filmmaker Harmony Korine. [1]

History

EDGLRD has collaborated with Bladee on his music video for "ONE SECOND" featuring Yung Lean, [2] with The Weeknd for the cover of 032c Issue #45, [3] and with Kim Kardashian for the Skims 2023 swimwear collection. [4]

In May 2024, EDGLRD released the film Aggro Dr1ft , directed by Korine and starring Jordi Mollà and Travis Scott. The film has appeared in various venues, theaters, and subsequently in video on demand format via EDGLRD's website. [5]

In June 2024, EDGLRD sold a limited run of Demon Masks inspired by Aggro Dr1ft for $1500 each, along with special edition skate decks and clothing. [6]

The EDGLRD skateboarding team is based in Miami, led by skateboarder Sean Pablo. [7] In August 2024, Eric Koston joined EDGLRD. [8]

In August 2024, the Reuben Brothers acquired a strategic stake in the company. [9]

EDGLRD's film Baby Invasion , a surreal, home invasion thriller, had its world premiere out of competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, on August 31, 2024.

The company's upcoming films include an anime film “The Trap”, an untitled mo-cap assisted comedy, and the feature debut of acclaimed music video director Matias Vasquez, better known as Stillz. [10]

Korine has described EDGLRD’s "post-cinema" works as "blinx", a term he has coined for their unconventional nature. [1] [11]

Sand Land is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from May to August 2000, and was collected into a single tankōbon volume in November 2000. Sand Land was first serialized in North America by Viz Media in their English Shonen Jump magazine in 2003, then later released in one graphic novel in December 2003. A CGI anime film adaptation co-produced by Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima was released in August 2023, while an original net animation (ONA) series was released worldwide on Disney+ and Hulu from March to May 2024. <i>Fight Harm</i> American film

Fight Harm is an abandoned project by Harmony Korine filmed in 1999. The premise was to verbally provoke passers-by into a fight. The rules were Korine couldn't throw the first punch and the person confronted had to be bigger than Korine. To Korine, Fight Harm was high-comedy reminiscent of Buster Keaton. "I wanted to push humour to extreme limits to demonstrate that there's a tragic component in everything." Filmed in New York, the project was abandoned following the injuries and arrests Korine faced while shooting.

Spring Breakers is a 2012 American comedy crime film written and directed by Harmony Korine and starring James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and Gucci Mane. Gomez, Hudgens, Benson, and Korine portray four college-aged girls who go on spring break in St. Petersburg, Florida and meet an eccentric local drug dealer (Franco) who helps them in a time of desperation, and their eventual descent into a world of drugs, crime, and violence.
