The EG Awards of 2012 are the seventh Annual The Age EG (Entertainment Guide) Awards and took place at Billboards on 20 November 2012. The event was hosted by Myf Warhurst. It was the last time under the title of EG Awards before changing its name to Music Victoria Awards from 2013 onwards. [2]
Warhurst in a press release for the ceremony said "As a past writer for the EG and a Melbourne music fan for my entire adult life, there could be no greater pleasure than to help celebrate and congratulate what is one of the greatest music scenes in the world at an event put together by Melbourne's finest music/arts guide." [1]
Weddings, Parties, Anything were inducted into the EG Hall of Fame as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1987 debut, Scorn of the Women .

Myfanwy Warhurst is an Australian radio announcer and television personality living in Melbourne, best known for her work at Triple J and on ABC Television's long-running music-themed quiz show Spicks and Specks. Before her career as a radio announcer and TV personality, she was editor-in-chief of Melbourne street press Inpress. Warhurst is currently Australia's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Joel Creasey and the co-host of the weekly art podcast Bang On and she is an actress who plays Aunt Trixie in the Australian animated show Bluey.
Archibald William Roach is an Indigenous Australian musician. He is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and a campaigner for the rights of Indigenous Australians.
Weddings, Parties, Anything. were an Australian folk rock band formed in 1984 in Melbourne and continuing until 1999. Their name came from The Clash song "Revolution Rock". Musicologist Billy Pinnell described their first album as the best Australian rock debut since Skyhooks' Living in the 70's.
Since 1988 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has inducted artists into its annual ARIA Hall of Fame. While most have been recognised at the annual ARIA Music Awards, in 2005 ARIA sought to create a separate standalone ceremony ARIA Icons: Hall of Fame event as only one or two acts could be inducted under the old format due to time restrictions. Since 2005 VH1 obtained the rights to broadcast the show live on Foxtel, Austar and Optus networks; and each year five or six acts were inducted into the Hall of Fame with an additional act inducted at the following ARIA Music Awards.

He is a former member of folk rock group, Weddings Parties Anything (1985–88) and pop band, The Whipper Snappers (1990–91). Steel has released eleven solo studio albums, including one as leader of Dave Steel and the Roadside Prophets and two albums with folk singer, Tiffany Eckhardt. He has been nominated for three ARIA Music Awards.
