A skyscraper is a continuously habitable high-rise building that has over 40 floors and is taller than 150 m (492 ft). Historically, the term first referred to buildings with 10 to 20 floors in the 1880s. The meaning shifted with advancing construction technology during the 20th century. Skyscrapers may host offices, hotels, residential spaces, and retail spaces.
Tour Maine-Montparnasse, also commonly named Tour Montparnasse, is a 210-metre (689 ft) office skyscraper located in the Montparnasse area of Paris, France. Constructed from 1969 to 1973, it was the tallest skyscraper in France until 2011, when it was surpassed by the 231-metre (758 ft) Tour First. It remains the tallest building in Paris outside of the La Défense business district. As of February 2020, it is the 14th tallest building in the European Union. On September 21, 2017, Nouvelle AOM won a competition to redesign the building's facade.
The Tribune Tower is a 470 feet (140 m) tall, 36 floor neo-Gothic skyscraper located at 435 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Built between 1923 and 1925, the international design competition for the tower became an historic event in 20th century architecture.

The Concourse is a post-modern high-rise commercial and residential building on Beach Road in Kallang, Singapore opposite Nicoll Highway MRT station. The Concourse is located in Singapore's "Golden Mile", which refers to the strip of land between Nicoll Highway and Beach Road. It was planned by the Singapore Government as a high-rise spine fronting Kallang Basin. The area used to be occupied by squatters and small marine industries.

A seascraper, also known as a waterscraper, is a proposed large building which will function as a floating city. It would generate its own energy through wave, wind, current, solar, etc. and produce its own food through farming, aquaculture, hydroponics, etc. The term "Seascraper" is an analogous derivative of "Skyscraper".

Forkontumac is a river island in Serbia, located on the Danube, east of Belgrade and north of the neighbouring island Čakljanac. Both islands are the southernmost part of Pančevo. The island has an area of 391,7 hectares. The river mouth of Tamiš into Danube is located north of Forkontumac.
