Eamonn McKeon (born 7 July 1934) is an Irish boxer. He competed in the men's middleweight event at the 1960 Summer Olympics. [1]

Boxing combat sport

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people, usually wearing protective gloves, throw punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring.

The men's middleweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 75 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 26 August to 5 September 1960. A total of 25 boxers from 25 nations competed.

The 1960 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XVII Olympiad, was an international multi-sport event that was held from August 25 to September 11, 1960, in Rome, Italy. The city of Rome had previously been awarded the administration of the 1908 Summer Olympics, but following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1906, Rome had no choice but to decline and pass the honour to London.
