East Bay Stadium was the working title name for a planned 15,000-18,000 seat soccer stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area to have housed a proposed East Bay team in the USL Championship. [1]

Location proposals

Oakland

Site: 37°45′13″N122°12′06″W / 37.7537°N 122.2018°W / 37.7537; -122.2018 Developer Mark Hall, principal owner of East Bay USL team, offered two proposals for the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum complex. The first involved acquiring 44 acres (18 ha) and the Oracle Arena for $85 million with the rest of the parcel to be bought by the Oakland Athletics for the construction of their new stadium. The second involved acquiring the entire 135-acre (55 ha) parcel for $135 million should the Athletics decide to relocate. [2] This proposal ended when Athletics purchased the entire site from Alameda County and entered exclusive negotiations to acquire the entirety of the city's portion of the site ownership.

Concord

Site: 37°58′20″N122°01′54″W / 37.9722°N 122.0317°W / 37.9722; -122.0317 The Concord site consisted of vacant city land near the Concord BART station and would have also included housing, retail, hotels, and a convention center. [3] The stadium project was canceled in May 2020. [4] Later, the rights to the proposed East Bay team were sold to the ownership group of the Oakland Roots who used them to promote the Roots to USL Championship.

Oakland Ballpark is a proposed ballpark to be built in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland, California. It is proposed as the new home of the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball. It would serve as the replacement of their current home at RingCentral Coliseum where the team has resided since 1968. This would mark the first time that the Athletics franchise has played in a brand new stadium since the completion of Shibe Park in 1909.

The Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Authority is a joint powers agency established by the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda to finance improvements to the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Complex, and to manage the Coliseum Complex on behalf of the City and the County. Since 2006, the top-tier seating of Mount Davis has been covered by tarpaulin during all Oakland Athletics baseball games, and the Oakland Raiders followed suit in 2013.

Oakland Estuary

San Leandro Bay is a body of water in the San Francisco Bay. It is connected to the Oakland Estuary today, but was originally separated by land which formerly connected Alameda with Oakland. It is located along the east of the Oakland International Airport and Bay Farm Island. The principal stream which flows into San Leandro Bay is San Leandro Creek. Alameda Mole

The Alameda Mole was a transit and transportation facility in Alameda, California for ferries landing in the East Bay of San Francisco from 1878 to the 1930s. It was located on the west end of Alameda, and later became part of the Alameda Naval Air Station. It was one of four neighbouring moles. The others were the Oakland Mole, the WP Mole, and the Key System Mole. The purpose of the mole was to extend tracks of rail-based transportation lines beyond the shallow mud flats along the shore of the East Bay into water deep enough to accommodate the passenger and rail ferries to San Francisco.

Oakland Roots Sports Club is an American sports club based in Oakland, California who began play as a men's professional soccer team. The club was formed in 2018 by a group of Oakland natives and began play in the National Independent Soccer Association in the fall of 2019. In 2021, the club joined the second division USL Championship.
