The East Lancs European was a step entrance single-decker bus body that was built on the Scania L113CRL chassis by East Lancashire Coachbuilders during 1995 and 1996.

Contents

A step-entrance design, it was similar in appearance to the low-floor MaxCi on the N113CRL, but had a straight window line as opposed to a stepped/sloped one.

History

A total of 79 Europeans were built, of which besides five that were purchased by Yorkshire Traction, 59 were purchased by companies owned by the British Bus group. [1] These companies were Luton & District (taking 27), [2] Northumbria Motor Services (20), Midland Fox (14), Clydeside 2000 (eight) [3] [4] and Derby City Transport (five).

The European was superseded in late 1996 by the Flyte.

Alexander Strider Motor vehicle

The Alexander Strider was a single-decker bus body produced in Scotland by Walter Alexander Coachbuilders between 1993 and 1997. The body was available on Dennis Lance, Volvo B10B, Volvo B10M and Scania L113 chassis. In 1993, the body was modified briefly to fit the Mercedes-Benz O405/O405G chassis and was marketed as the Alexander Cityrider. Only two were built on this chassis configuration.

East Lancs OmniDekka Double-decker bus built by East Lancashire Coachbuilders

The East Lancs OmniDekka is a double-decker bus built for sale in the UK market, introduced by East Lancashire Coachbuilders in 2003. Originally built on Scania N94UD chassis at Euro 3, and later Scania N230UD and N270UD at Euro 4 and Euro 5, the bodywork consists of a modified East Lancs Myllennium double decker, but with the standard front end cowl and windscreen replaced with that of Scania's own integral OmniCity. Through takeovers of East Lancs, production of the OmniDekka was latterly carried out by the Darwen Group and finally Optare before ceasing in 2011.

The Scania L113 was a step entrance and low entry single-decker bus chassis manufactured by Scania in Sweden between 1989 and 1998. It is a low entry compartment to the low floor N113.
